I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss.

I agree with the others that you should wear a darker neutral outfit. Also, given the service will be in the mountains and I'm not sure you'll be changing after, if it was me I'd be sure to make sure I was warm and comfortable. I'm thinking possibly layers could be a good idea?

I'm with Kim- whatever would be appropriate for a funeral would be appropriate for this.

I usually wear black pants and a black cardigan with a pretty but subtle floral embroidery at the top. So sorry for your loss.

I would wear the same thing I would wear to a funeral. Something dark or neutral and understated.

Sorry for your loss. I agree with Amy, wear something that you feel good in that is neither overly somber nor overly cheerful. I like the idea of a subtle print, and you can never go wrong with a sheath dress. I also feel that a sheath dress in a basic color with thoughtful accessories is always appropriate for that sort of event.

Can you give us an idea of what your options are? It would be easier to give feedback if we knew what you had in mind.

I'm very sorry for your loss. My best friend was killed in a scuba diving accident almost 4 years ago and it is so hard to lose someone you are close to, and when it is something sudden, the shock is very difficult. I'm not sure the weather of where you live, but for my friend's, I wore a black and white floral printed dress. We wanted to make her's a celebration of life, and I felt like something subdued, but not solemn was appropriate. I think a muted color or subtley printed sheath or simple dress sounds like it might work. Again, sorry for your loss.

We are going to a memorial service this weekend. The service is on the top of a mountain, inside, and afterward there will be an outdoor event. We are only attending the morning service. Given the nature of the service, I'm wondering what is appropriate wear. This was a close friend of ours and the circumstances were quite tragic so I want to make sure that I don't cross any lines. Thanks for any help.
