Agree with the others about the arctic AC. Definitely layer. Jcrew has a white cotton sheath that is also lined in cotton (a rarity) that you might consider. Vegas is very time consuming; walking to a loo will take you a good 10 mins indoors.

Comfy shoes.
Layer. Even taxis can be cold.
Sunscreen. With your fair complexion you may even want a hat for walking around outside, or poolside.
Water. And more water. Indoors or out.
Be very careful in the sun. The heat can really be dangerous.
Consider sticking with pants indoors with a shell and blazer or cardi. Light breezy dress for outdoor walking is a good idea.

Definitely choose your outfits from the shoes up. You must have comfortable shoes, or you will be miserable. I like crop pants and flowy skirts with a dressier but lightweight blouse. Add accessories that can dress things up. A light layer for indoors that you can take off outside as needed.

MUST pack warm items for indoors. I was in Vegas in August - 110 degrees outside. And it was 65 to 68 indoors. Arctic a/c EVERYWHERE. It was absolutely ridiculous - and there was no escaping it. I understood why people were wearing jeans, boots, knitwear and jackets.

VERY comfortable shoes. You walk your legs and feet off in Vegas - everything is very far apart (and GIGANTIC).

I lived in LV for three years. Cropped pants and blouses will be fine for the brutal AC in the hotels, make sure you bring a light jacket or cardi.

For walking the Strip, pack a light, breezy dress and comfortable walking shoes -- everything on the strip appears deceptively close because the buildings are designed to look "larger than life" and you'll actually end up walking for hours just to see the sights (and keep your jacket/cardi in your bag so you can throw it on when you're indoors).

Bring a reusable water bottle and drink a lot -- you'll sweat buckets without even noticing it, because your perspiration evaporates immediately. And bottled water is ridiculously expensive on the Strip. :)

Highly recommend checking out Fremont Street/Downtown as well, for food and entertainment. Easily accessible from the Strip, but a slightly more "local" vibe.

I was in Vegas for a conference a few years back, and it was over 100 then too. I wore sleeveless cotton dresses with a lightweight cardigan for indoor AC. I brought foot powder to put on my feet, and sunscreen to put on all of me. Even though it's hot, it's not humid, so I found the heat tolerable. I'd much rather have 110 with low humidity than 90 with high humidity like we get here on the east coast.

I think I would wear sleeveless dresses, with jackets for professionalism/air con.. You may be indoors most of the time but I assume you'd want to get outside for some fresh air, or to see the place a bit. I prefer clothes that hardly touch my body in that kind of heat.

I'm in Hong Kong, where it's both hot & humid (30 degrees Celsius, 95% humidity) & I think the AC in these sorts of places tends to be a little crazy. I think you should plan outfits where you can layer up BUT they also look good without the extra layers. Accessories will help to change up the looks without taking much space in your carry-on. Here's a suggestion for 3 days, but of course you can change it up as you see fit:

ITEMS:
-Black Blazer (if you want to wear flares, it might be better proportion-wise to do a cropped Blazer rather than a longline one)
-Pashmina (you can drape this over your shoulders or loop it at your throat in the AC, then tie it onto your handbag as an extra pop of colour when you're in the heat)
-Cropped flares (I'd recommend a pair in a seasonless fabric, but the cropped length may mean you'll need to wear them with heels to look professional, if you're OK with that?)
-Heels
-Accessories (I was thinking maybe a long necklace to temper the width of the flares, and add some vertical integrity without adding bulk. You could also add a belt to make any tucked in tops with your flares look intentional and professional).

LOOKS:
-Blazer, Silk shell blouse, Crops, Heels
-Pashmina, Flutter sleeve blouse, Crops, heels
-Long necklace, Flutter sleeve blouse, Crops, heels
-Pashmina, silk shell, etc lol

Diana, I can't make the link work! Maybe it's my phone. I'll check on my laptop in the morning. Thank you! I think I'll try on my linen trousers to see if they fit. I was thinking layers like a tank top under a cardigan.

This reminds me of when I went to that conference in Orlando last July. Sooooo hot (and humid, which won't be an issue for you) outdoors, and so overly air conditioned indoors. My conference was probably more casual than yours will be, but here is my capsule if that helps. Definitely layering is the way to go. I brought a summer scarf, long, lightweight vest, blazer, and cardigan. (The scarf is also helpful for spreading over your lap if you're wearing a skirt and your legs get too cold!)

http://diana.lookfab.com/post/.....el-capsule

(ETA: just so you know, my teddie pants are a lightweight cotton seersucker, not the heavier stretch fabric of normal Teddies. Personally I'd find the heavier fabric, especially with the stretch content, too hot for summer.)

I haven't been in that kind of heat for years, but I recall feeling like air conditioning is even colder when it's extra hot outside. I would bring a jacket to wear indoors, even if you are wearing long-sleeved blouses. Just in case. Another thought: if you are going to be outside when it's hot, you might wear a tank under your blouse that could stand on its own should you need to strip down (oh, and sunscreen!). (Maybe that's what you meant by layering?)

Oh no, that sounds terrible. We went to a wedding in Vegas in June several years ago. It was hot, but around 100. It was nice in the evening when the sun went down. Inside was very cool. I needed a light jacket for the AC.

I went to a conference with DH a few years back--100+ outside. The CPAs looked strange in their Blazers and button downs. Cool indoors and incredibly hot outside.

I'm sure you don't want to look uptight like the accountants--male. Sorry can't be more helpful.

I'm headed off to a conference in Vegas and it's supposed to be 116 deg F Monday! I am not sure what to pack. I was just going to bring cropped flares and blouses, but now I feel like maybe I need to layer? I'm guessing I'll mostly be indoors, except in the evening, perhaps. Thoughts? I don't have much in the way of professional dresses that fit me and are light enough. I'm looking for an outfit formula here. I just need three outfits.
