The invitation asked everyone to dress in cocktail attire from the couple's birth year, 1959, and specifically mentioned skinny ties and pearls. I'm excited about going to this party, but I don't think I have anything appropriate to wear. I'm also twenty years younger than the birthday couple, fresh out of grad school, and don't want to spend much money on this unless I get a piece I can wear again and again. </p> <p>Does anyone have any ideas on what I could pull together to look polished and somewhat 1950s era? I am open to literally anything. Thanks! </p>
