I agree bold and simple. I do a little bit of public speaking and I try to make sure my outfit looks awesome but is not distracting. So simple bold, I tend to avoid patterns or any fuss. Minimal accessories too. Go well.

I agree, bold and simple is a winning formula. And something that you feel at ease in. Good luck!

I would gof or simple hair and simle but vlassy outfit, such as jacket with shirt and pants/jeans. IMO these types of situations call for more classic dressing.

I would avoid any doodads that you might find yourself fiddling with or anything that might lead to a wardrobe malfunction like a top that allows a peek at one's navel if one bends over. If you will be standing, wear comfy footwear. And if you will be wearing a clip-on microphone consider where it could be clipped.

Yes, I'd absolutely go for bold but simple -- nothing to distract from the message you're giving. I don't think authoritative matters as much unless you're working in an office where most of the people are male and/or older. If your jacket is too constraining, and your dress has sleeves, you might be better off without it (the jacket, that is, not the dress, haha!). I find that anything that constricts movement while presenting takes my mind off what I'm saying when I need to stay focused. Good luck -- it's normal to be nervous, I always am, but find that if I'm prepared, my nerves decrease soon after I start talking. And the audience never notices our nerves like we do!

Tomorrow, I'm giving a presentation at our monthly All Hands meeting (which is about 90% of the whole office). I'm incredibly nervous and excited at the same time. What do I wear? How do I do my hair?? Should I go for simple but bold, like a black and white striped dress? (I've had it a while, but you've not seen it yet). Should I wear a jacket to look a bit more authoritative? My hair will be new to everyone, so I'm thinking I should leave it down and straight, very simple. Let the bold color be it's own statement.

Anyone have suggestions? I'm open to everything!
