Marley, I am glad you said that - it is exactly what I had to do in Rome, so I am keeping that kind of weather in mind. I agree: it is crazy that temps can fluctuate that much!

Layers, Layers, Layers! The temps in San Diego are pretty much like the ones where I live. I usually start out in the mornings with long or capri pants, or capris underneath a skirt or dress, with a light jacket and/or scarf on top. By mid afternoon I've shed the jacket and the capris - maybe or maybe not taken off the scarf - and then by 6 p.m. I'm back to the original outfit! Kind of crazy - but I'm not complaining!

Hm, capris - maybe the ones I wore to the swap? Thanks, MaryK!

San Diego can be chilly, especially at night. I was there this time last year and was very comfortable in jeans and a tee with sandals during the day. I'd say jeans or capris, tees, and definitely a jacket or two.

Thanks for sharing your packing wisdom, Zap! Man, I wish the BF jeans would be here by then! Hm, as a bf alternative, maybe my below-the-knee shorts?

Hubs don't think anything fancy is involved but, now that you mention it, I'd better bring something just in case...

For the Inlaws I would keep the shorts at bay but bring them for other activities.Other than that Rae, you have such a great selection. You can't go wrong. I would bring:
Two pair of jeans - Would the GAP BF's be in your little hands by then? That's such a middle of the road jean.... jeje... not too short, yet not full length jeans...
Tops (4) Can be anything from tees - like the old saints you were wearing - to the Nexx. Natural fabrics would transition nicely from colder to warmer temperatures.
Couple toppers - definitely bring the white jacket we found during our meet and a jean jacket perhaps.
Some ankle boots, the reports just look like the ticket.
Accessories: Watch, necklace etc as needed.

Do you have any events planned where you have to be dressier?

Hubs and I are heading down to Coronado Island and San Diego for the weekend, visiting friends and then meeting my MIL's husband for the first time (they live out of state and had a lovely destination wedding this summer, which I could not attend due to lack of vacation hours available).

The weather report says highs will be at 75 degrees F, with a "real feel" temp of 67 - a pretty big difference for me. 67 usually means jeans and a jacket, and 75 is more like shorts and a tank... any suggestions for outfits to withstand heat, cold, and in-laws?
