On Craigslist you set a price, but people will haggle with you usually. I've been selling a ton of stuff lately out of necessity and sometimes it takes a couple weeks to sell, but I've sold most everything I've attempted to sell. If it doesn't sell on CL, I post it on eBay. I had an old simple black nylon Salvatore Ferragamo tote that I listed on Ebay for $35 and the final bid was for a little over $100. I was really happy about that one!

Ooo I hadn't thought of Craigslist. Good idea. Did you set a price Marianna, or did you just post it and negotiate a price? I have no idea what is reasonable to ask for.

Oh, yes, absolutely Craigslist. You won't be out anything other than the time it takes to try it. (and maybe some time if the people don't show up when they say they will to buy it).

I would post it on Craigslist for fun. Craigslist is free so you don't lose anything and it might be interesting to see if anyone shows interest. If you don't sell it there, you could post it on eBay. I just sold a dated designer bag on eBay and got a lot of money for it surprisingly. So it's worth a try!

Oh Julie, that's a good point. I hadn't considered that.

I know what you mean Ele. I guess I am just being an opportunist here and trying to raise some money for my Fidji shoes...

There are a lot of consignment stores in the area but they pay so little. If the bag sells for $30, I would probably get $15. Maybe ebay is my best bet. Or Julie might be right and I should hang onto it.

I think i would hold onto the bag for a couple more seasons, with the return of nineties fashion this bag may feel current again very soon!

Hmm. I generally have no qualms about giving things away to thrift shops; if I don't get use out of it, it's worthless to me, regardless of the "actual worth" of the item. That being said, I can see your point. Do you have any good consignment shops in your area, Maya? That might be an option.

I think I may have posted this once ages ago, but didn't get too many replies.

Remember these bags, that everyone in the world once had when Kate Spade first took off?

http://www.kaboodle.com/review.....-handbag-8

Well I have that bag too in cherry red, except now I feel that it looks dated. I have not worn it in years, nor have I seen anyone else wear it in years. Would I get any money for this? Ebay is giving me mixed results. Some bags go for $6, some for $90, some don't sell at all. A lot of the ones that go for higher prices are an anniversary edition of the bag, so I take that with a grain of salt. I can't imagine getting more than $30, and $30 would really surprise me, but something feels all wrong to me about giving away a designer bag to a thrift store (even though that's how I found mine, go figure).
