For me it's so dependent on my body type and that I want the work it pants to be at least somewhat flattering but still functional. I look for kinds of mini Bootcut yoga type or would try new trackpant styles that are slimmer than " sweatpants" but of material good for movement.

athleta has some good items with more current shapes. i was browsing their sweaters--thumbholes! i also like lucy as a thriftier alternative to lululemon. a hidden gem is costco.

No specific recommendations, but Angie had a great post about work out wear recently that you might find helpful:

Tomorrow I am going to try to find some exercise wear. In the past I have worn mostly yoga pants. My two best pair are getting little holes along the back seam. They are at least three years old, so not to complain. They are the standard wider leg knits. Are these still fashionable,or is something else, like knit track pants more current? I am too old to wear all that tight spandex, but also find looser pants more comfortable.
