Great dress--there are so many things you can do with it. Assuming you need to stay somewhat warm during the event, not just to and from, I'd probably start with the lead in Angie's post today and look for a velvet or other luxe fabric long blazer (past hips, maybe to midthigh or knee, at which point I guess it's a duster) that's either tailored/fitted or swishy and flowing, not a boxy in-between cut. Black, another solid color, or a print would all look good. This one was in the post and goes past the hips, but others are longer/ more dramatic http://www.bodenusa.com/en-us/.....velvet-lon . Short boots and fishnet or other patterned black tights, worn over hose that match your skin color.

Have fun!

Not sure if you need to be extra warm getting to and from the event or while there also. If only the first I’d be tempted to do double nylons/fishnets/lace, a faux fur bolero, and then a larger longer coat on top.

I love the idea of a faux fur - or even if you have a simpler coat (like a wool coat) you could use a faux fur scarf and gloves to dress it up (also more cost-effective than an entire coat!). As an alternative to pumps, depending on the formality of the event, could you do an opaque or patterned tight, with tall black boots? Something with a suede look could be really luxe, and might be easier to navigate the snow than with a shoe.

I will be wearing this dress (https://www.torrid.com/product....._sub=27823) for an important date. What kind of shoes and jacket would you wear with it? I live in a very cold, very snowy place so want to look bangin' in this dress but also not freeze to death lol I have a good eye for picking out clothing, imo, but I'm stuck on the other details like accessories and shoes and coats. Help??
