I adore the colors in the plaid — an unusual but perfect-for-me combo of teal, turquoise and burgundy — and I wore it some years back layered under a burgundy blazer. The fit has never been perfect. It’s a little narrow in the hip and tends to ride up — it’s quite frankly made for someone with a straighter, longer torso than mine. Well, I put it on for a Zoom call and some work at home, and I fussed with it for the four hours I wore it, constantly tugging it down. It’s now in the holding zone — I may see if it can be altered somehow, or see if I lose a bit more weight so it falls more easily. But if neither of those scenarios pan out, I should really donate it. </p> <p>TL;DR: If it feels fussy now, it won’t get better. It has the puffed sleeves and a shaped silhouette that I love.</p> <p>The problem is that it is not a perfect fit and feels a bit fussy. </p> <p>I am thinking that I should send this one back and get one that does not have bust darts or shaping (find 2). (This is g-star btw, and they have another really cool one, kind of like this one but straighter with some stitching.)</p> <p>With a straighter shirt, though, I think I would have to tuck, or else it is too voluminous. But if the shirt has enough structure (ie: fabric is thick enough), it should puff out nicely and look ok, right?</p> <p>I do love the girly-girl elements of this one though. It’s just that...it’s fussy.</p> <p>I’ll post some finds when I’m back at my desk. </p>
