Both have a lot of petite items.&nbsp; Some very short women have success with juniors sizes or even larger boys sizes. I've had experiences like <b>DonnaF</b> cited, where a petite sized garment is too short and the same in a regular size is too long but can be shortened.&nbsp;</p> <p>I also agree with<b> fashintern </b>that body proportions are an important consideration. For example I'm 5'1", and extremely short waisted (meaning my shoulder-to-waist measurement is quite short), and Talbots tops and jackets IN PETITE SIZES are almost always too long for me. On the other hand, I find most petite pants are too short because I prefer full-length inseams, so I usually buy regular sized pants. I also really like Anthropologie. Macy's also has some designer offerings in petites' that other stores don't--for instance, Macy's has some Michael Kors items in petite sizing that I have seen nowhere else.</p> <p>I like Topshop too. And J. Crew is another fave, because their petite curvy fit fits my body well. For Fashion with a capital F, I like Topshop which comes in Petite sizes. All below are Petites except the organza shirt (had the sleeves shortened) and the denim dress. I also buy a fair amount of Nordstrom’s in-house Petite brands. </p> <p>I like Nordstrom because they do alterations. I recently bought the yellow T-shirt dress in both Petite and straight sizes. The Petite was indecently short on me, and the regular one looked dowdy. The people on ylf who spring to my mind as “short” are not built the same at all. If you tell us a bit about yourself—your build, tastes, and environment—I bet people will jump in with some ideas for you.
