I wear my neutrals of Black, grey, and blue with dark cool colors all year. This year I'm on the lookout for deep reds and greens. My NAS picks are a sea of black.

Jenn's pallete rocks and I usually start with something like that, but then I am sucked in by black.
I love berry tones for early fall .

I am another who loves Jenn's palette. Black and dark wash denim have been my neutrals especially in the fall/winter. My main colors are have been brick red, teal, and pumpkin. In an effort to move away from my dependence on black I would like to add some cognac this year as a neutral. I really like the combination of black, red, and cognac with some bits of leopard print so I may try to build a capsule around that combination for this fall/winter.

I'm a bit like Suz in keeping with basically the same colors all year with maybe just fewer lighter colors in cooler weather. I also wear a lot of blue, especially ink, navy and dusty gray blues and denim of course. I love shades of deep wine and plum, forest green and deep olive and charcoal gray as well. I have a few plaid shirts that I know I will also wear that incorporate most of those favorite colors. I plan to wear at least some white this fall/winter and found a soft white shirt (the elusive HEWI "perfect" white shirt) at a jcrew outlet this summer that I want to enjoy. It's one of those shirts that will not require ironing, is not sheer and feels almost like a light weight flannel cotton. That's not everyone's perfect white shirt, but it is mine. I'll probably wear it with jeans and my white sneaks mostly. I'll be able to wear white sneaks well into December in our climate.

ETA: I forgot to add cognac as I do wear it during late fall/winter as well.

Great thread. I love your colours Jenn. I am very loyal to earth tones and Autumn colours are my favourite. I tend to stick to neutrals. I will pass on buying if I can`t find what I want in colours I like.
My neutrals are denim (I prefer mid tone blue), chocolate brown, camel, cognac and olive green. Occasionally for colours I wear mustard yellow, burnt orange and citron or chartreuse. I have a small amount of teal. For white I wear cream. I have a very small amount of black.

Mine will revolve around navy, silver grey and a touch of black, to which I will add berry reds, purple and teal. If a new colour pops up that fits with my overall palette, I will buy a few small pieces in that colour, too.

BTW, I must have blinkers on at the moment because I haven't noticed what colours are supposed to be trending for autumn/fall yet. Obviously, I'm behind the curve!

Lots of great ideas for colors in here. It's good to know that burgundy might be a good color with the blush, I had not considered that. Interesting how many people have identified a neutral pallette and then add the accent colors. Lots of good info here, I need to go through it again carefully. Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas.

Thanks for starting this thread.
I outgrew my burgundy pants and skirt and fell back on RTW black pants and brown pants. I need to stop procrastinating and sew a new burgundy skirt and pair of pants. Tassie is still in the grip of winter (often until October) so I'll get plenty of wear from them. Burgundy and navy for me, with hunter/bottle green.
Denise

I want to add some burgundy/oxblood for fall if I can find a shade that I can wear. Last year I really enjoyed burgundy jeans and recently added some ankle booties. I'd also like to add toffee/camel and forest green.

My colours are black, white, blue, wine, red and pink, pretty much. This is the same summer and winter, though I have a few corals items in summer. I also have some grey, though I'm trying to minimize it.

I am trying to lighten up more in winter, and look for lighter items especially around my face, but this is difficult!

Love this color palette! I'm a big an of cohesive palettes. Yours is a winner. I also find it helpful to make a "color study" -- within a Powerpoint to better focus and assess my style. My color story has evolved to mostly black but it helped me to understand my relationship with white, gray, ink -- a few other blues. And it will probably help me when I feel like I need a few accept colors. Again, well done!

I tend to be very boring, in the sense that black is the basis of my wardrobe. However, I have really branched out and I am now including black AND white for summer, especially, although I did buy a longer, off-white blazer for fall. I do have a blush leather jacket and a grey leather jacket for fall, but those work primarily because the foundation of my wardrobe is black. I also wear a couple of very dark floral prints for fall/winter.

The last couple of years my strategy has been a plethora of neutrals with a smattering of colors. I wear many of my clothes 4 seasons, so I keep most of the neutrals and supplement with different color accents.

My neutrals are black, ivory, cognac/camel, olive and navy/denim with light heather gray in ss and charcoal in fw.

In the fall I start wearing more black and I bring in lots of burgundy and some purples and oranges. I'm currently on a rich green bender that I expect to carry over into fall. Teals, emeralds and forests may replace my purples and oranges this year.

In the spring I pick up some bright tees and tanks to layer in, but otherwise it's all the same neutrals above.

Is it wrong I'm really loving cognac for spring/summer AND fall/winter this year? I tend toward cool colours and wear A LOT of denim 8-10 months of the year (blue, black, grey). I love all blues. I also have black, grey, white. I don't usually do white-out but I love pale-out (white, light neutral, pale denim, blush). I adore blush and don't keep it reserved for just spring.

I have a pair of burgundy velvet leggings from last year that I paired with blush and loved it so much that I'm looking for burgundy denim this fall. I'm also thinking of exploring a sort of spruce green.

So really I'm all over the place and no help!

Timely question! I just saw something about Pantone's colors for autumn/winter 2016. One I want to add this year is a rich forest green--they call it Lush Meadow. I noticed some of the color represented in the NAS.

My neutrals will be navy and grey. Other colors, besides Lush Meadow, will be burgundy, blue in several shades, and white/cream.

This summer is all about blue and white with a bit of cognac inspired by a new fave bag. I'll be continuing that palette for another 2 months. Carry overs from last F/W are grey, and black and some cognac, though a favourite repeat outfit was grey trousers and a navy turtleneck.

i would like to add more cognac or perhaps camel. Something that works/ matches with my hair colour. I also like winter white. I wore out an inexpensive pair of Land's End corduroys in a cream colour last year.

The NAS posts seem to feature burgundy and turquoise as well as the regular dark neutrals, so that might be what is trending. I haven't been grabbed by a signiture colour the way pale blue inspired me S/S 2015.

Generally my neutrals are bright white, pearl gray, ink/navy, black and espresso brown/burgundy in winter. Colors I might add are hunter green (if I can find it in great items) and cool toned dark olive which I only have in a trench. Maybe some purpley cobalt? More lavender/orchid?

I like to wear brights and pastels throughout the winter, but usually in winter weight clothes or grounded with fall colors paired with them.

Silver shoes and pearl gray booties have been on my wish list for awhile.

I love the palette. I was an everything black and gray girl for years and years. Now I am buying many more blue items, and am thinking of that burgundy/Merlot as an accent for fall. I LOVE blush but it doesn't love me.

I wear variations of the same colours all year but they tend to be the deeper and richer tones in autumn winter and I wear less white in winter so even if they are the same tones they look different in relation to the neutrals I'm wearing.

My neutrals are denim blue, ink, navy, grey (medium and charcoal), and a bit of taupe, along with soft white/ white.

My colours are predominantly also blue. ;)

But I love cranberry reds and really, all berry tones including magenta, fuchsia, as well as burgundy (providing it doesn't skew brown). Every shade of orchid. I also like and wear teal, although I don't have any right now.

I also wear black more as a colour than a neutral but now that my hair is grey that may change a bit. And I have a few blush items as well. Now that the hair has changed colour they may no longer work for me -- I'll have to see.

I know what I like, so I'm pretty disciplined about color palettes. Recently, I've been wearing lots of cognac, black, olive, cream, and mid-tone denim. I add more navy, burgundy, mustard, and charcoal in autumn.

The palette below is only a subtle shift from last year, with some colors gaining in prominence while others recede.

Burgundy/oxblood has been a fall staple for me for years. However, I was surprised by the things I ended up ordering at NAS (I haven't gotten them yet so I don't know what I'll keep). But it was a lot of black, grey and navy. I'm definitely keeping the cardigan below. So boring--where's the color? LOL! I want to get a pair of grey or silver shoes...maybe I'll end up with metallic silver oxfords?!
