He has found these to be surprisingly useful though he wouldn’t have chosen them himself. Lilacs and pastel pink less prominent.<br /> - slim fit still - but not as many skinnies.<br /> - lots of interesting sneakers, brogues, ankle boots. Due to weight loss since retiring the last of the old oversized items looked ridiculously large and DH had no problem relegating them to the donate pile. We went through accessories as well, and his watch is in for a new crystal and strap, another for a new battery. Shoes are in good shape. U-wear and socks are good.</p> <p>Saturday we are going to brave a large mall - list in hand.</p> <p>3-4 long sleeved layering T's<br /> 2-3 short sleeved layering T's<br /> 2 sweaters<br /> 2 button downs<br /> 1 dress shirt<br /> 1 pants<br /> 2 winter coats<br /> Gloves, hats, scarf/scarves</p> <p>For next year/summer: 2 pair golf shorts, 2-3 Golf shirts (light coloured), Tilley or straw hat</p> <p>DH's look is similar to bijou's pic #3. He is conservative and not sartorially adventuresome. He did ask if we could get cashmere sweaters! (I got him a pale grey cashmere sweater as a gift and it became his favourite.) He liked the pants we got last year (Hugo Boss per Scarlet's rec) and would like another the same instead of jeans (what Joy noticed!). I helped DH develop a separate sports/golf capsule this spring. DH noted that he wore shorts way more than long trousers this summer, and that his dark shirts caused him to feel hotter than the light shirts. We will tweak the golf capsule next April. </p> <p>He likes Lululemon (tg - will check out the ABC pants) and Uniqlo products and the mall we are visiting has a Nordstroms. He is into the patterned socks; I actually got him a sock subscription so he gets a new, funky pair once a month lol. He wears a lot of printed shirts and blazers ... often with a pattern mix, usually bolder on the shirts and more subtle on the jacket. He wears slimmer dark jeans and likes the Lululemon ABC pant also. Cognac or blue shoes with lighter soles. For casual, he wears slim jeans, trainers or a dressier sneaker, and a pullover. In this role, he needs to look smart, but suits and ties are not appropriate.&nbsp; He wears nice casual shirts, jackets / blazers, sweaters and chino pants. He wears rather conservative colours, blue, navy, charcoal, grey are popular, with cognac shoes and belt. I am allowed to add a bit of colour into the shirt. The pictures below are from the store where I buy most of his clothing.</p> <p>On the weekends, he will usually wear a t-shirt and pants / jeans and jacket. He suggested we get started TODAY since it is a quiet rainy day! He is off getting a hair cut (yes - he still goes to The Hairport, but now has the owner doing his hair!!). DH's 5 favourite clothing items were new this year. Top of the list is the charcoal suede jacket he got during our trip to NL, but second are a pair of grey herringbone Hugo Boss stretch cotton blend pants from Nordstroms (thanks Scarlet), a navy and grey flannel plaid button down, navy Uniqlo puffer (thanks Rachylou, greyscale) and a pair of olive Viacom shorts. DH adopted a leaner profile with slimmer cut pants and sized down for tops. Another success from last year's session was the separation of regular clothes and sports (golf) capsule! </p> <p>DH has lost weight in the 6 months since retirement 10+ lbs and one pants size and I catch him hitching up his pants - even when wearing a belt. Bottoms have to be reviewed, sweaters are needed, and a short wool coat has to be replaced. The cull will reveal more. </p> <p>So I'm asking, what is trending for men and what is working for the men in your life? </p>
