Yes! I think that gamine preppy would pretty much sum it up. Casual, simple, a little bit sophisticated, and cute. I guess edgy is not the right word. Maybe there is just an attitude.

Dashrashi, I had to google brenton marinier but that is exactly it!

I would also suggest "gamine"--the striped top made me think of the breton (mariniere) which is very chic-French-girl. I don't know about the cross-body bag, though. But maybe google "gamine" (or google-image) and see if that's close?

I was just going to say preppy too. And definitely modern classic - which is a great style to have!

It seems preppy classic to me (like J Crew before the ruffle & statement jewelry explosion). Check out Lands End Canvas or Martin & Osa - they seem to incorporate this look.

then it's casual modern classic with an edge :-)

seriously.. classic can go dressy or casual I think and you can always add edge to it, but the basis of what you're describing sounds classic to me.

It seems a little edgier maybe? And more casual than the way I picture modern classic.

I would call that modern classic...
what don't you see as classic with this look?

I've been seeing and admiring a certain style lately. No idea how you would label it though. Let's see how to describe...hair is in an inverted bob, minimal jewelry- maybe earrings and watch, long and short pea coats, striped turtleneck or tee, casual cross body bag, clogs or casual flats, mostly neutral colors. It manages to be casual and sophisticated.

Okay, the way I've described it sounds kind of boring but it is really cute. Anyone familiar with this style? What would you call it and what other articles of clothing would go with it? It doesn't seem to be bohemian, classic, etc.
