I love Beth Ann's idea. But you have to do it with a <b>MODERN CLASSIC </b>look vs. an "arty" look or else it will be a totally false dichotomy. And it has to be created from items you'd actually conceivably wear. So if button downs are not your thing, you can't use a button down -- you'd have to use a knit. And so on.&nbsp;</p> <p>Choosing an ultra preppy (what you described)&nbsp;or staid classic look (pencil and twinset) would be unilluminating.&nbsp;</p> <p>So, what you need is a few of your most current classic cuts. Look to Angie's outfits for inspiration.&nbsp;</p> <p>You could wear slim jeans or fluid bootcut trousers, a fluid knit or a tailored blazer, skinnies tucked into boots, or any variety of items. Just make sure they are current yet classic in design. So I have been pondering for a few days, what totally head to toe classic can I wear to try this out. And I am at a bit of a loss for what I think is truly classic?&nbsp; Ideas bouncing in my head are straight leg jeans and a white button down (maybe a blue blazer with that too), white pants slim pants (dont have any!) and a black cashmere turtleneck, a tailored sheath with pumps maybe (not for taking care of preschoolers!)?&nbsp; Surely there are many more? When you think of THE classic outfit what comes to mind? </p>
