For example, maybe a year ago, I was looking at street style during the RTW shows, and lots of fashion-y young people were wearing giant pants, sort of reminiscent of '90s skate fashion. I remember thinking "that's an interesting look--I cannot wear giant skater pants myself, but I'll bet these will be trending soon!" And sure enough, they are trendy and here I am wearing big pants and enjoying it. So I think those looks were technically "fashion forward." But that quite narrow definition is hard to apply to one's own self, I think?
