Great compliments.</p> <p>About a year after my grandmother died, I ran into the Dean of her church, who knew her well (she was very active as a volunteer). I had met and chatted with him several times over the years and liked him very much. On this occasion we got into a conversation and were reminiscing about her, and he said, "You know, you really remind me of her. She was so glamorous and elegant, and I think you're just like her in a lot of ways." It really made my day, not because someone thought I was glamorous (I don't think of myself that way), but just to be compared to my grandmother was a huge compliment. I really looked up to and admired her. She was kind of larger than life. To me, anyway. YEARS ago, I was sitting on a wide pier reading a book. Some guy came along on his bike and was so busy smiling at me that he drove his bike right off the pier and into the water. If they only knew about the acne, eczema and rosacea I've had to deal with!
