Anne: I don't mind at all. ^_^
Angie: I have a belt that stop right above the hip, and you are right. It's going to be my favourite accessories! I tried on an outfit and it looks superbe. Can't wait to show you guys.

Tanya: No problem, I will check them out once I have time.

Thanks for chiming in, Tanya. You have many fans adoring your style on this forum :0)

Goxtina, belts are going to became your favourite accessory. I can't wait to see you sport the look.

Anne, I do not perceive you to be rectangular. BUT! Your body has “straightened out” after losing the last bit of baby weight. This has happened to Kyle too (since she's lost 15 pounds). Does that make sense?

Hi GoXtina, I'd say you are a long-waisted straight-ish hourglass too. I am also a long waisted hourglass, but not as slim as you, and curvier too.

I'd second the ladies who suggested belts, they really work well on figures like yours and mine to accentuate the waist ( I have tons of such outfits on my weekly outfit posts so you can have a look if you are interested).

Also, here's Angie's blog about how to dress when you have a long waist:

http://youlookfab.com/2008/05/.....g-waisted/

Goxtina - sorry for talking about myself on your thread

Maya - I mostly feel like that at the gym - in shorts and baggy t-shirt. But also in my straightleg jeans, which I love.

But I didn't really mean I was a rectangle - just had tendencies in that direction, like Goxtina and Angie (not that I am as skinny as them). Though interestingly when I first asked on YLF at least one person did say rectangle.

Anne, I can't believe you think you're straight or think you look rectangly! You look very curvy to me. If an outfit makes you look like a rectangle, then there is something wrong with the outfit because that is certainly not what you are!

A spring scarf? I'm still looking for one that is perfect. Any suggestion? I notice turquoise looks very good on but I want other color too.

Angie: I'm 5f 7. I love what Tanya wear, will pay attention to her from now on ^_^.

Thanks for advice guys! ^_^ If you guys have any other suggestions, I will gladly hear it!!

Maya, we also wear the same size shoe :0)

Goxtina, the gals are right. You and I have a very similar body type. Not quite straight enough to be rectangle, but not very curvy either. You are what I call “a straight-ish hourglass”. I’m not long-waisted though, but I do have a long giraffe neck, very small bones and long monkey arms. What’s your height? I’m 5ft 6.

To answer your question, follow the guidelines of the rectangle AND the hourglass. Tanya is also long-waisted and she dresses her body type extremely well. She is curvier than us, but she’ll inspire you for sure.

I guess all you can do is try them on and see how they fit. Angie and I were comparing our wrists and one thing we have in common (probably the only thing we have in common) is a peculiarly prominent wrist bone bump! Maybe that's common among all people with small wrists.

Ha, before I read the comments I thought EXACTLY the same thing as Maya re: your body type.
Belts of any type sound great. And what about a bright spring scarf?

a waist clinching belt? I'll try to look for that ^_^
I have big bones fo an asian so I guess a small wrists too? If I compare to the American and European average bones size, I am a little bit smaller than them.

My guess is a long-waisted hourglass that tends toward a rectangle. Similar body type to our very own Angie! Lucky you.

As far as accessories go, you NEED a waist cinching belt. You have the perfect body type for this look. I think a chunky bracelet would look great, but do you have small wrists? I have extremely small wrists and I have a hard time finding bracelets that look right.

I know I am quite skinny but I am really curious to know what body shape am I.

I want to improve my wardrobe so I am thinking of updating my accessories. What kind of accessories can you all recommend that will look good on me? I am thinking of buying those huge bangle bracelet but I dunno if it will look good on me.
