I can't respond to everyone individually this morning, as I'm taking my kid back-to-school shopping shortly (she's finally growing! Yay!), but I really appreciate the encouragement. :-)</p> <p>It's not that I hate beige, it's just that it's a bit bland-looking and I've never really been drawn to it. But I have tried on beige items before, like trench coats (albeit in the distant past), and I guess I sort of knew the colour suits me. I also remember how nice beige looked on my mum, who had similar Englishy colouring.</p> <p>I agree, RobinF and Staysfit, that it needs a better name. The tag on the cardi says "ash". Maybe I'll go with that. :-)</p> <p>Viva, I will definitely give it a good try -- I think it'll be a very useful garment, as it's drapey and sort of kimono-shaped, but with 3/4 sleeves that won't drag in things. I always have a cardi in my bag, just in case. Sometimes the temperature outside does not agree with the temperature inside!</p> <p>And now to get started on my pearls and husbands collection. </p>
