I've been wondering about waist definition -- tucked shirts, welted sweaters, etc. with high-waisted pants and skirts. I'm still wearing them, not ready to say goodbye, but I suspect we'll see less of it as long as everything is remote and we do everything via screen, from the shoulders up. Perhaps we'll see the pendulum swing back to long-over-lean looks? The leggings-and-big-shirt combo appeals to me a lot these days, and it's something I'd never thought of as "me". But it is sooo practical.

Back after further musings...

The only significant change made regarding clothing likes and dislikes in my closet such that I want to say ‘goodbye’ to a style, is regarding bras. I’ve acquired 3 soft stretchy bras, and tossed the equivalent number of underwire bras. One black and one nude-for-me underwires live in my lingerie drawer, but have seen minimal action since I acquired the soft bras.

Hmm, I quite like bell sleeves but agree that they can be annoying. I don't have many but mine tend to be dressier items so not getting in the way too badly. And I still love skinny jeans - not super skinny but more slim. They just work best on me and I hope they never go away!

On clearing out the old, I recently cleared out wornout underwear—everything with stretched-out elastic or even the beginning of detached waistbands. Surprisingly, there was only one cami I hesitated on. Even more surprisingly, I’m now considering a second round. Even though everything that’s left is technically OK, there are some pieces I tend to put back instead of putting them on. I’m going to observe for a couple laundry cycles and then probably ditch them, possibly buying replacements.

Sometimes it is very cathartic to let these items go. I have just done a wardrobe clean out and taken it to the local Goodwill shop and was so pleased I did - it has decluttered my wardrobe (and study area where I had the bags stored in a holding zone) and at the goodwill they were very grateful to receive the items that were still good but no longer suited me where I am on my current style journey.

I didn’t enjoy my bell sleeve dress in winter but kept it. Yes the bell sleeve is not suited to a pandemic!!

Aside from that the items that have been edited out or were rarely worn were either items that had worn out, or things I just don’t ever wear much ( heels, leather jacket, fitted dresses). I an mixing up the pants silhouettes now and enjoying wide crops, Tailored ankle pants, flares, Mom jeans, Looser fit trousers. I have gradually moved away from longer looser tops and my current tops are more tailored.

I would not be inclined to get rid of stuff that previously got a lot of wear on the basis that you are not wearing it now as life maybe very different in a years time.l have barely worn any coats or proper footwear this year as I am at home so much but I don’t intend to spend the next 30 years,God willing, indoors so I am not getting rid of anything on COVID grounds alone.
Bell sleeves were always impractical for me but they are very pretty.

Phoebe-not wearing my straight leg and wider jeans because one pair is white, the other tan, and the dark denim I want to keep for dressier jeans. My jeans take a beating, and sometimes get stains, mud, dirt and grass stains. So the skinnies will have to do for now.
I just seem to feel better in a slim thigh wider bottom pants and jeans now. And prefer shorter tops, and slimmer tops,,not like really fitted but maybe even with waist definition.

I’m good! Annual edit completed last month. Though most items were just worn out, a pair of wide leg crops are gone as well. The pants profiles in my closet are for the most part a slim straight leg, or an ankle length jogger style with a slight taper or ‘carrot’ shape.

Regardless of sleeve style, tops seem to always get pushed or rolled up to just below elbow length!

The skinny jeans are classic by the current standard and could be worn with different pieces any way you'd like. I'd consider keeping the best fitting ones in any case - good fitting jeans are not easy to find.
Bell sleeves seems still going strong from what I've seen in our mall - may need different combinations for a a more fun/fresh feel.

Personally I'll be waiting until spring edit to decide to what to keep and what to give up - coronavirus makes everything more complicated even simple decisions.

Seems bell sleeves are out. Still have a couple hanging around, but not worn..want to say good by to skinnies, but will be wearing them this winter as I have so many. Besides I am really not going anywhere to even wear my 3 pairs of non skinny jeans. Also not fond of pointy toe shoes, have white pointy toe booties and dark grey ankle strap flats that are hanging around, but will also have no where to wear them. Probably I will hang on to a navy rushed sleeve short blazer because it is really cute and was once loved, but feels dated now. Guess I am just in a wait and see mode......
