Okay, those winkees are hysterical looking! Don't they just look like a pair of panties pulled up over the bra?

Hmm...I have some pretty underwear around here somewhere...should I test it out?

Khris, I hear you on waiting to be professionally fitted for a bra. It's a good idea to go back and try more dresses.

Fab green dress, though! Add a black bra, show the straps to create the effect of wider shoulder straps and this is what you wear in 100 degree heat.

Bless you, Marianna. That's exactly what I meant. Thank you :0). We all need winkees for hot Summers. (Oh my - does winkee mean the same thing to you as it does to me?)

Angie- I just bought a few new bras that seem to fit well, so I don't think that is the issue (although I could have been wearing an old one when I went shopping- I'm going back to Kohl's to re-try things on). I had a really hard time fiding bras that fit, too. One side is larger than the other, and one style fits so differently from the next. I am planning for a Nordstrom's fitting when I get to goal, but that is so far away from me that I can't go there every time I need to size down. The bust issue is one that I've always had, along with the issue of being larger on bottom than on top.
I did find the picture of me in the green dress:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/c.....430319782/
It's very similar to the gray one that I bought (which is also a JR.s size). I usually try to stay out of the JR's dept, but the three dresses that have fit me have all been juniors. I think the elastics in them are what is allowing them to fit.
NK- I didn't but it at the time only because I didn't have the money. Sometimes I plan shopping trips when I am broke so that I can concentrate on trying things on and finding a good fit.

I love the pink dress, so much, in fact, that I own it in brown and a black and white polka dot myself! I'm larger on bottom, so I was surprised to find it fit me at all. You're right though, it's not exactly a summer dress to wear all day long. Mine are for church, which is highly air condtioned and then I change the second I get home.

I like the last sundress, but I see it's from the juniors department. I'm curious about the fit and why you didn't purchase it at the time?

Sometimes when I get home and pine over something I didn't buy, I go back to buy it and end up realizing just why I didn't get it. Was there something about it that didn't make you grab it?

Is this the covering thing you're talking about Angie?

I was curious so I did some Googling. Interesting concept! I don't have anything to cover but I do like modesty. Very smart idea.

Got it. Perhaps it's a bra fitting issue. You're shrinking weekly so you'll be in the market for new bra sizes every so often as well. Do you think that another bra will solve the bust fitting dress problem?

Wrt the dickie thingie, I thought that it might broaden your dress options. If you find a great sundress, but you can't wear it because it's too low, that tiny bit of covering will help (no hot cami necessary). I guess I was putting the cart before the horse!

Maya, please chime in with that bra covering dickie thingie I'm suggesting to Khris.

Thanks Maya. I do find that most of UO's stuff is too small/short on me, but I give it a try when I am near there. I think that the theory about being covered in heat is more for direct sunlight. When it's really hot in my area, our humidity goes way up, too, so it's not really as dry a heat as you would think. Since we don't have A/C, the one relief that I have is standing directly in front of the stream of air form the swamp cooler (which is basicly a fan that blows a really strong gust of air over a wet pad)- so I want as little coverage as possible so that the air can hit my skin.
I do know what you're talking about Angie, but that won't solve my fit issues, either. The dresses are not too low cut, they are too small over the boobs. I'm between lots of sizes right now, and to make matters worse my boobs seem to be larger than the size that fits the rest of my upper half, and my bottom half is a good size or more larger than my top. When dresses fit everywhere else, the armholes are usually too big.

Khris, I loved your outfit today and your hair looks great freshened up!

I also wanted to alert you to the fact that when I was at Urban Outfitters today, I saw a lot of sundresses. I'm not sure if they might be a little short or revealing for you though, but the fabrics were mostly cotton so I thought I'd throw that out there.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of being covered in the heat rather than exposed? Is it something you have tried? I always heard that being covered is actually cooler in dry heat but I could be wrong. I am only familiar with sticky, humid heat.

Yeah Tam- it was freezing that day.
I'm still having a really hard time finding dresses. I decided to keep both of the the colors of the Calvin Klein one from Costco because of that. I drove to Old Navy last night and tried on a bunch of dresses, but none of those really worked for me either.

I agree that your hair looks even fabber than before!! Like the outfit you are wearing too, although I am not used to seeing that much layering under a drapey cardie. Is it for warmth?

I vote for dress style #2. Looks like a thinner cotton which would be cooler than the first one too, wouldn't it?

I know- the shirtdress was really cute. It's just not practical for me right now- It would NOT be wearable for the summer at all. Sleeves!!! Not on my summer dresses, thank you. We only have about 6 weeks of spring/fall weather and that is the only times that I would be able to wear that type of dress.

first of all I love your shopping outfit. that falls into the category of one of your best! love it!

I would wonder about how those knit cotton dresses would hold their shape over the summer. I have had bad luck with cotton knits and have pretty much vowed to avoid them. It would be much more flattering in a v-neck as well.

the woven solid dress was my favorite of the bunch. You should consider getting a "second base" cami for these types of dresses.

the only thing that bugs me about the shirtdress is that cuffed cap sleeve. why must they do that to do many otherwise perfectly good shirts and dresses? I also have to wonder how cool and breezy that would be with that belt.

hmmmm, I'm wondering if you could create a v-neck in that first dress by running 2 or 3 gathering stitches really close together perpendicular down the front, and then hiding them with a matching color thin ribbon, or even contrasting trim...... just a thought that popped into my head. edit... nevermind, I looked at the dress again and it doesn't look like enough roominess to do something like that.

I was at Kohls the other day and tried on that shirtdress in black. It was too small on me, otherwise I loved it. It's a great look for you! It reminds me of a Calvin Klein shirt dress I saw at Macy's for a higher price!

I really like the other options too. Glad you're finding some suitable summer dresses!

Kohls has a fab polka dot dress right now that I tried on, bought, then returned 5 minutes later due to spending guilt. I can't get it out of my mind though and might have to go back for it. I've never shopped there before and quite liked some of what they had.

The shirtdress is my favorite as well. What color is your one from last year? Is it lightweight enough to get you through the summer....I know you said in a previous post that you have to have very lightweight dresses for the summer. If it is, I would but the new one, as long as it is a different color. It looked like it came in three colors.

The others are nice too. It's hard to say about the last one though because it is so strappy though without a picture of you in it.

I had an appointment to have my hair trimmed tonight- I think that I love it even more than the first time, but of course I have to wait and get my hands into it first.

Here's what I wore today:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/c.....423558413/

Merona Engineer Boots from Target
Levi's Straight Leg Jeans
T from Kohl's
Sweet Pea top (ebay)
Merona Merino Wool Cardi from Target online
Bead Necklace from Target

Now here are some pictures of what I tried on-
cotton knit dress from Kohl's in Large solid
http://www.flickr.com/photos/c.....424323058/

and Medium pattern (blurry- sorry)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/c.....424323068/

I like the blue with the pattern on it and even though it's not the most flattering cut, it is so comfy, and 100% cotton that I am considering it in the large. A long necklace might help this neckline.

here's the dress on the website:
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStor.....+Dress.jsp

This utility dress I absolutely love, unfortunately it is very similar to a dress that I have form last year that still fits, so I am passing on this one too (but encouraging others to go and try it on)

For some reason, I can't find the picture of me in this dress, but this is the only one that I am really thinking about going back for:
