I like the first dress, and I say wear those white legs with style! That's what I do ; ), at least once it warms up. I really like your "uniform" in #5. Perhaps if you want to mix it up, you could think about some fun toppers, like a moto jacket.

Hi, I like the first dress, could you wear black tights with it? The first dress looks too big, but in a smaller size, it might be just right. Welcome!

Interesting! I think I am the only one who does not care for dress #1. It's rather a snore, even if it fit you perfectly.

On the flip side, I do like the other dress. It may be too big -- hard to tell in the photos, especially with arms up like in pic 6, and in pic 8 I can't tell because it's belted. For dresses in this sack shape, which deliberately surrender the waist, you need to have the arms fit snug -- it looks like they do? I don't care much for it belted. I want to see it with no belt and your arms down. It may be too wide but so simple to take it in a bit on the sides.

I love that you paired it with leopard print shoes. I'd never have thought of that in a million years, but it works great.

As for white legs, they are fine! In fact pasty white is trendy because skin cancer. Also it's only march. They won't stay that white for long.

I don't think anyone would exclaim that your legs are too white. You can always wear a pair of tights, or wear hose, or use a self-tanner, but I wouldn't say you need to.

I have to say I am learning I'm not good at assessing outfits, from selfies! I don't know whether it's my vision, or my screen, or what -- I don't notice details that others point out, or I can't figure out the drape or other aspect of the garments. (Not just having trouble with your photos, but generally. I'm very picky about online shopping, too, few photos seem to really display what I want to know to decide on a purchase!)

I think the dresses are okay. But I would not say either of them is killer. 1 looks on the casual side. I agree with everyone that the other one seems tentlike, and not in a flattering way. Your skinnies and jeans take better advantage of your slim frame, to my eye. I would dress you in a more fitted dress (I was just drooling over the fitted long sleeved dress that the blogger featured on the site today, sewed. I think you could rock that sort of dress - here: http://www.beautejadore.com/20.....dress.html

I'm uncomfortable with dresses with bare legs, but with fleece lined tights or leggings (with boots/booties) it's a whole different thing. Opaque tights sometimes are warm enough too. Ornella's posts have a lot of great tights with skirts color schemes.

I like the first dress on you (adjusted to work with a topper) and maybe the trench coat with another dress. It's a fun exercise to have someone else pick out your clothes.

Hello all,
Stitchfix is a combined shopping/ styling service that I read about recently. Basically you sign up, put in your physical attributes and style preferences and they send you a box with 5 new items, with styling tips. You send back what you don't want in a prepaid envelope within 3 days. It is supposedly very popular with people who have no time to shop.

So why does a person like myself who spends an excessive amount of time following fashion and shopping on line try it? Because I was curious to see what someone else might recommend for me. I particularly asked for dress suggestions, because I rarely wear dresses. Partly because it's cold ... and partly because I rarely find ones that I like.

Anyway, after a couple of weeks they sent me: super cheap and ugly looking necklace, blue & white stripe cardigan (I liked that one), ruffled trench coat (in pic 7), b/w + green striped dress, and tan/orange medallion print sack dress. Also sent some outfit ideas for each item, which was a good element of the service.

I was interested in the ideas that the Stitchfix stylist offered but wasn't super thrilled by them. I was curious whether it was my comfort with skinnies and cardigans in the way or whether the selection were actually not the best choice for me. I liked the colors in the tan/coral dress but it was super big and I have a hard time wrapping my eye around myself in ruffles and volume. Also I noticed the same thing about the striped dress being gappy with the blazer.

Hi & welcome Ummlila!! Love the jeans outfits - your boots/shoes are fab. Dress #1 looks a little big around the neckline when you wear it with the jacket & dress #2 is too big imo.

What is Stitchfix? Is the goal of the dresses to take you out of your comfort zone or just to find another silhouette that still feels like you?

BTW...welcome! Selfies get easier.

#1/2 and #4/5 work for me. #3 is fine, but the different items don't feel like they're really pulling together to me. The last dress just doesn't look like *you* to me. I feel you look a little cold... and have more authority than the dress implies.

My first photo post. I discovered I'm not good at selfies. A couple of weeks ago I thought I'd try Stitchfix, just to see what other people might pick out for me. Got a couple of dresses I would never choose for myself and can't decide if they are keepers. Also including two of my typical comfort zone cardigan and jeans outfits for contrast. What you you think?
And what would you do to cover super white legs.?
