I tend to make things work that don't resonate emotionally, and often when I'm dressing for work and need layers or coverage I think that's acceptable. But with the emotional strain of a pandemic and no need to worry about working in an office I'm over it! Also, weekend wear and weekday wear are now solidly the same for me and the only differentiation between days is the weather and if I'm planning to get grubby or not (kid-residue notwithstanding, as that's a constant!)</p> <p>All that is to say, I put some stuff on my wishlist but wasn't supper psych'd about anything in particular. I loved the pale green Theory color but silk just isn't practical (nor is going to the dry cleaners) for my life. I wanted some dark green casual pants but the only really casual ones had thigh-pockets. Ugh.</p> <p>I did recently purge some coats, and generally I like to buy next-season things at NAS. So this is what I settled on. And I will return anything that doesn't really work, even if that means both items go back!</p> <p>1) Dark Green Vince trousers.&nbsp; This scratched my dark green pants itch. Not the exact color I was hoping for, but I do like the silhouette. I own pull-on ponte trousers by Vince, so I'm hopefully these fit well and that this color plays nicely with my fall sweaters and blouses.</p> <p>2) An interesting two-tone trench.&nbsp; I purged a bit-too-small coat recently in this general shade and my black Burberry is too small (but I'll keep it at least to pass on to my kid if not to wear it again).&nbsp; It's lined and I like the sleeve detail.&nbsp; Hopefully the quality is decent and the fit OK.&nbsp; I think it's casual enough for an early fall/early spring coat.&nbsp; I decided I have all my other coat needs met.</p> <p>Ironically, neither of these items was on my original NAS short list. </p>
