So sorry to hear you were unwell, FrannieB. That is hard when you are travelling.

On a positive note, are you ever a fast learner!!! (Gee, any chance you are in education??) ;)

Great condensation of your learning curve. The three month break with give you a chance to see what you have in your closet and really work with it without any changes. Good job!

Wow you've learned a lot! I especially like #8 - "It's not me it's the clothes." Shout that one from the rooftops, girlfriend!

Although I can't say that I love the color gray, I certainly do wear a lot of it - it's probably the neutral I wear the most. I use it to create an (almost) column of color with black, and then add a pop of color to that.

It will be interesting to see your 3-month capsules. How will you organize them - by season/work/play?

So sorry to hear you were ill during Christmas and during your travel, and during part of your vacation. DH and I both had the stomach bug that was going around last week, but at least we didn't have to go anywhere (well, he had to go to work, I got to stay home).

sounds like you've learned a lot in a short amount of time --and i found my self nodding my head to so many of your lessons. buying for a fantasy life--yup, been there, done that. tons of great stuff, but not really a great wardrobe, yup, guilty of buying stuff i loved without thinking about how it would actually work with what i already owned. i still haven't gotten around to cataloging what i own, but i have managed to slowing purge pieces that weren't getting worn and I'm not buying for my fantasy life anymore (ok, sometimes i still do, but now at least when i get it home and try to wear it, i'm realizing its not going to work and returning it).

Late the party -
was sick as can be over christmas and then got on a plane sick (lets not talk about the misery of that ) was on vacation in wonderful Mexico - sick for half the trip without an internet.
Some reflections about what I learned and why I am grateful for YLF

Top 10 things I learned in no particular order

1. I had a wardrobe of pretties with nothing that really went together - have slowly been building a functioning wardrobe that all goes together
2. I previously liked to shop for fantasy life and not real life
3. I know the silhouette that looks best on me and I get distracted by how awesome others look and had moved away from what works for my body - YLF has helped me remember what looks great on me.
4. I now have a list of shopping questions i ask myself that have saved me from many pretties and fantasy life outfits
5. Okay this will shock you all - While I like a bootie - My love in the winter is a black wedge heel - I will take a wonderful shot of how I get to and from work in the cold winter and really I don't care about looks I just want to be warm.
6. I love the color gray - I have developed a crazy love affair with gray.
7. I like a neutral base with a pop of color - Learned about column dressing and have never looked back
8. I have never spent so much time buying and returning looking for the perfect fit - it's not me it is the clothes
9. You never know what store you will find a great piece of clothing in - I have truly learned the look high and low.
10. Organizing and counting your wardrobe is enlightening

2015 goals
1. Taking a 3 month shopping hiatus - I have bought a lot of stuff and will take a break until spring
2. Develop 3 month capsules
3. Continue to figure how I want to incorporate color
4. Wear more of my wardrobe on a regular basis

Thanks for reading and all that this wonderful community has done in helping me figure out my style that makes we feel wonderful as a curvy gal.
