Scarves are indeed a great way to do this, and I would keep on with that if I were you because you really look great in them.</p> <p>In addition, how about dipping your toe in with a patterned or printed top with a black or dark background? I've included some finds mainly just for the prints, more so that the styles, because these look like they have something in common with the prints you are already wearing in your scarves/tops, and because you mention the embroidered treatment too. I think you might find some nice drapey tops with those kind of prints that take you through the seasons, and the dark backgrounds make them psychologically easier to wear, rather than trying to leap from dark colors to embracing a bright or light top. I think you could also add some colorful bracelets, bangles, or a cuff. It looks like your wrists are exposed enough in a few of your pics and that is a subtle way to add color without breaking the bank. They can be very inexpensive but still pretty. I made some hard decisions and changed my life considerably.<br /> Style has gone on the back burner as I have not had money or time nor the inclination to make it a focus.<br /> I have gotten to a kind of uniform this winter of leggings , boots ( usually booties or my Frye harness boots), a dress or tunic or skirt , a jacket and a scarf .<br /> While this look is serviceable and sometimes I even feel good in it . I am starting to get a little bored with the black and the shape .<br /> I realize I love love love scarfs bc of the color and pattern but bc of my body shape and size , I never like color or pattern in other clothing items.<br /> So.. Going forward I think I do want to incorporate more color into my wardrobe .<br /> Not sure where else to head with my style ... Thoughts suggestions ?<br /> And these are some things I wore over the past few months ... </p>
