Teal/dark turquoise is my absolute favorite color. It goes so well with all shades of denim, grey, black, navy, white, etc. I would add mustard and olive green too. Also if you had to, you could polish them to a blacker color, but I would not change them.<br />Since your mom is the color expert, see what she thinks about using this color to be less matchy-matchy and add richness and interest to your outfits. That's something I'm trying to do and looking at lots of photos of outfits I think look interesting and it turns out there is a great use of subtle color and texture differences in clothing, footwear, bag, jewelry etc that all comes together. When I got home they were halfway between black and green. Some people are convinced they're green, some say black. I wear them as if they were both.
