I have to agree with you here. I was disappointed with this one in particular. Not much of an offering.

I'd been a regular JCrew customer for many years--for over a decade and until about two years ago or so. I kept receiving their beautiful catalogs--or, as they prefer, "style guides"--, and I always looked forward to devouring them from cover to cover. I loved the glossy pages and sometimes quirky styling, and I remember them as thick volumes, with plenty of pages, ideas, and items to browse.

Then, for some reason, they kept not being delivered anymore. I think some of them were lost in the mail (because once in a while one would arrive), but at some point they might have dropped me from the mailing list because I hadn't ordered anything in two years. (and if so... not nice!)

The other day, missing the catalog, I requested one from their website, and it arrived: the February issue. And I was disappointed! No more glossy paper. Very few pages, very few ideas.

To those of you who regularly get them: is this just because it's a between-seasons catalog, and the other ones are at least a little bit more profuse (if not as glossy)?

It's not like their prices have gone down in the meantime, so I was surprised with the downsizing.

PS. I'm a huge fan of catalogs in general for styling ideas and inspiration. I just don't get the same kicks out of browsing online (whether online stores or blogs). I love looking at the printed page, and while magazines can be great, catalogs are often more relatable and inspiring to me. For instance, Boden, Garnet Hill...
