As for boyfriends -- having the legs actually look loose is pretty much an impossibility for me.  I thrifted a pair, but they aren't tapered at the bottom.  I like them anyway. But booties really stand out as a late adopted item for me. I got my first pair 2 and a bit years ago, my first autumn on YLF.  Now things are different. I even had a post about it, and was quite boosted by many other late adopters, and we made a club... Okay, on to your post! I was late to scarves and now I love them. For the past two winters they have been my happiest wardrobe boost. But, although they are still seen quite a lot, when they hit major popularity five years back I wanted nothing to do with them. I only started wearing them when a lot of more trendy people had stopped. I'm also late to tunic length sweaters. Before this year I had none and now that is all I've bought...about 8 new ones. They are all I want to wear. Lisa on "What fashion parties have you been late to?" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/what-fashion-parties-have-you-been-late-to#post-1147447 Thu, 23 Jan 2014 15:01:02 +0000 Lisa 1147447@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ I struggled with BF jeans for a while and finally found a pair by Kut from the Kloth that work for me.  They were tough to fit.  Skinnies were also a struggle for sometime, I've learned that a straight leg fits my pear shape like a skinny, so I usually look at those instead of "skinnies."  If a skinny has a curve to it (CK has a curvy skinny) that is a skinny that works ok.  Otherwise they look like leggings on me! I haven't gotten into track pants, harem pants, dresses of any style, or skirts.  Usually trousers for me need to be stiff which is why track pants and harem pants don't seem to work so far.  They show every lump and bump.  I gave up on dresses and skirts because they are so hard to fit.  (The dresses that work best on me, A-lines and wrap style, are the hardest for me to find a layering topper such as a blazer that works ok.) When I need to dress up my go to lately has been a pant suit which seems to work just fine.  I've also stayed away from cut out boots.  I prefer to sport a sock but don't really want to see the sock.  And I have stayed away from fur (real or fake) because it's usually too itchy for me.  And vests in general, because they are usually so puffy (at least winter one's are). The first time around with boyfriends, everyone on YLF was loving the Gap Sexy Boyfriend and sizing up multiple times to get them extra baggy.  I tried this and with my short legs, it wasn't a great look. Now that boyfriends have gotten a little more refined, I may be ready to RSVP. I never wholeheartedly joined the BF party -- I have some but they're not my preferred silhouette. I've been wondering about the faux fur vests myself. I know that Angie said they are still in and retro, but I am finding them increasingly passe myself. I wore mine twice this season, and didn't feel very fabulous. In fact, this was one of the items that I wanted to mention on your thread recently about dated wardrobe items, but I didn't find a chance to comment.  I have a pair of boyfriend jeans but I don't think I was ever part of the party.
