The only jeans I have been wearing recently are my wide leg jeans. I have some old skinny jeans, but have not been wearing them. My denim skirt and dress are worn often and I have been enjoying my cargo pants as an alternative to jeans.

Very fun thread! I have very few jeans--I tend to wear pants instead, even for casual outings. My main collection is below (not including gear jeans, for walking the dog and doing yard work). I am wearing the AGOLDE jeans the most--they are 100% cotton but are really soft and comfortable, and very oversized and baggy, which I love :).

1) AGOLDE: deep cuff
2) Mother: pleated, baggy, with frayed hems
3) CoH Charlotte: a bf style for me (mine have frayed hems)
4) CoH Emerson: also a bf style for me, though the rise is very low (for my very long-rise self) so I don't wear these a lot these days
5) J. Crew Factory jogger jeans: elasticized back waist, so these are excellent for travel

These are my 2 pairs of jeans, both Lysse. The bootcuts I wear on days off, and the newer brown wide legs I wear to work. I probably won't add more, cause I only wear jeans in cold weather, and I'm in the process of downsizing/ transitioning these days.

Fun excuse to get a few more items into my Finds!

Styles are all over the map really! I also have cords and velvet pants with 5-pocket styling which function very similarly to denim in my wardrobe in deep winter. The last remaining pair or two of true skinnies are worn under dresses only.

This isn’t my whole jean collection, but a fairly good picture of the variety. I also have a pair of Mother wide leg jeans that are a little bit long in the rise and I’m wondering if I made a mistake buying them. I tend to wear them when a jacket will cover them a bit.

I’m enjoying the looser-legged styles but still wish there were more moderate rises available. 12” is just too long for me unless the cut is meant to be oversized, and even then it’s tricky. I wear my Nili Lotans a ton! The Pilcro skater jeans with the side snaps always get comments, and I also wear the 7FAM frequently.

I count the Maria Cornejo denim pants in with my jeans because…denim! I wear them a lot. I really enjoy the unique style AND they’re pretty flattering.

I wear boyfriend jeans a lot. The COH Emerson’s and the ollllld Pilcro boyfriends are frequent players, and I also have two pairs of Old Navy BFs (one in a mid wash, one lighter) that get worn a fair bit.

I also have a couple of crops that I keep. Pilcro cords and the Mother Hustlers. They don’t get worn a ton, but a nice change in silhouette from time to time.

I still keep a small handful of slim straights as a current version of the skinny silhouette. My moto style jeans fall in that category too, and I still love those. I got rid of all my old skinny-skinnies.

As someone who *hated* jeans growing up (because of the stiff fabric & hardware), I'm so grateful for the currently wider trends & stretchy tech!

I never liked the calf sucking skinnies, but I have a pair of 'velveteen' jeans which makes the skinny-adjacent cut more bearable on the legs. Would prefer a higher rise, but still use them for tucking into boots in winter.

My other pair are also straight cut but looser (not wide legged since they still taper slightly at the ankles) - what would you call this style?

I like wearing them full-length or with a thin cuff - would love to try a deeper cuff but that's hard to find for my height & highrise May try regular inseams...

Love seeing everyone's jean collections! I wear jeans almost every day. I've been getting back into shape this last year, and bottoms are the first to need replacing so I have purchased a few lately, but I don't want to buy too many (too soon) as my goal is a way off. As a mid-sizer, 16/14 it can be tricky to find jeans I like that fit, and am sized out of most premium brands.

I have a serious soft spot for Vintage Levis, and generally prefer a dark wash straight leg, with not a lot of distressing or holes. Carla I lOVE your new big cuff dark jeans! swoon!! I used to have a pair of Kut Catherine Cuffed jeans I wore out.

Narrower legs work well with my ankle/taller boots... The Mr prefers a tighter jean-- about my wider jeans--says they look like "all the trendy millennials"! But I think he is getting used to them. The wider legs have such a great "swish!"

Currently in rotation: Levis, Gap, Madewell, good American, Rag & Bone, Wit Wisdom

The Gap Faux leather have a nice edge to them. I would like to add a pair of coated cotton jeans in a straight silloutte. The Wit & Wisdom fit a bit loose on me now (more like a straight) & I love the dark grey/black houndstooth pattern, it is surprisingly versatile and a bit dressy

I love jeans. They are an essential part of my wardrobe. I try to wear them all year round, but I usually wear my corduroy pants on very cold days.

I have never worn skinnies. I prefer looser cotton jeans.

I have three pair wide leg, three pair straight leg, and one pair each of balloon leg, flare, skinny jeans. I wear them all but have a special fondness for my wide leg jeans. My next purchase will probably be a pair of either white balloon leg or long wide leg white jeans. My flares get a lot of wears with my boho tops, the skinny leg jeans go under dresses. I do have a few other pairs of jeans in my holding zone but these days I'm usually wearing the jeans shown below.

Great thread, Carla! I love your mega cuff dark wash wide leg jeans.

I’m trying to refresh my jeans capsule. I would like to get at least one wider leg style, a pair of off-white jeans, and a dark wash slim straight, which is an essential for me that is somewhat lacking in my wardrobe right now. I would like to try the Paige Cindy and the AG Mari High Rise.

I’m leaning toward keeping the Frame Le Slim Palazzos I posted about as an ankle length option. I have also ordered the Paige Sasha in a 34.5” inseam (find shown is for the 32” inseam). I have a couple pairs of dark wash Paige jeans (one straight and one slim bootcut), and a pair of AG Harper slim straight jeans, but they are a little low rise for my preference, and a little snug.

My jean collection finally got more current wide leg styles mostly from Urban Outfitters ( so grateful for mid rise that works well on me as a slightly slouchy fit ). The old Lucky Brand low rise flare jeans is still worn on some days off but otherwise waiting for the Spring edit ( I retired some but still got a few that fit but don't bring me enough joy ).

UO supplied me with new straight relaxed black corduroy pants, lightweight cargo pants and not pictured loose white cropped jeans - all last year.

My jeans capsule is a bit lean by my standards at the moment:
-dark wash skinnies
-mid-wash skinnies (these are a bit cropped and initially I had envisioned them as transitional/cool summer jeans but I find that I don't want to wear skinnies as the weather gets warmer, and the shorter length is just fine in winter since they are inside boots anyway.)
-light gray raw hem cropped straights. (I would like several more pairs in this cut but different washes)
-medium gray super skinny/legging jeans
-light to mid-wash boyfriend jeans (these are too big, haven't worn them in a month but would like to replace their functionality)

I never really stopped wearing skinnies as the long over lean formula is practical for my climate and suits my body type well. Also I need a low rise and that can be difficult to find in other styles (bc the low rise era was also the skinny era).

I also have various jeans style pants in corduroy and velvet, but I have just listed the denim here.

I had been a bit off my equestrienne outfit formulas for a while but I can feel myself turning back towards those looks now. They are a reliable and accessible way for me to feel polished in a way that still has a bit of that practical, outdoorsy feel that is integral to my style. And I find that I prefer the neat and tidy look of true skinnies *on me* in that look vs the wrinkles/bunching that I get with looser skinnies or slim straights.

Jeans are one of my favorite things to wear and to look at on others, so this is a fun thread!

I have many pairs but they are mostly a variation on straights. While I adore wide legs on others, I haven't found any that really work on me. My most worn silhouettes lately are wide straights and tapered roomy high waisted ones.

I like to have different washes of the same silhouette. I go from pale distressed types to dark rinse non-whiskered and everything in between. Most are blue but some are washed black or white. I like to cuff about half the time, so that feels like I get two for one!

I also have flares, bootcuts, skinnies, cropped, long full length, and shorter full length. I don't have good finds for all, but here are some.

One of my goals this year is to wear my blue jeans more often. Some part of my brain still thinks they're a little too casual, and I'm trying to overcome that. I'm fairly conservative with my taste, as you can see. I love the look of the reverse silhouette of barrel jeans, but I am concerned that they would just look like baggy jeans on me. Theres a pair of Pilcro barrel jeans at Anthropologie that id like to try. I no longer have a pair of skinny blue jeans at all.

I would love to see tonal embroidery on jeans come back! I had a pair in the seventies that were my favorite thing ever.

ETA - I would love a pair of front seam/utility jeans. Loft, Old Navy, Penney's have options. Love that vertical line!

I have 9 or 10 pairs (on the fence about a couple, but will probably keep). I find that at any given time about half of them fit the way I want, due to fluctuations in waist:hip:thigh:calf ratios. Small changes in body composition have a bigger impact on jeans fit than in anything else in my wardrobe. I also find jeans feel cold when it’s very cold and stifling when it’s very hot, so I reach for them more in spring/fall and less in summer/winter. I don’t plan on adding more anytime soon, and I’m happy with my current options.

In terms of silhouette, I have two pairs of bootcuts (one high rise, one mid), two barrel/balloon (different colours), two pairs of slim tapered (my skinny jeans alternative), and four pairs of straight legs in various degrees of slouchiness (501s or 501 inspired styles). Roughly half of them are washed black, the only denim color I consider essential at this point.

The straight legs get the most wear, followed by the barrel legs, then the slim tapers, then the bootcuts. This has a lot to do with footwear compatibility and how comfortable they are with a base layer underneath in the winter.

Zero jeans here. Not a fashion thing, rather I had to stop wearing them for medical reasons. My last pair was purchased circa 2019, a high waisted black relaxed skinny. It’s since been passed on to a friend who is wearing it regularly.

Nice to see everyone’s collections!

I’m wearing NYDJ jeans called Slim Bootcut Ankle, and some old (2017-2019) full length bootcuts from Levi’s, Code Bleu from Dillards and Cookie Johnson. I do have a wider leg and a more relaxed fit pair but haven’t been reaching for them first.

I don't wear mine super often, mostly just a day or two on weekends, and not at all when it's hot. Maybe for 4-5 months, depending on how cool the fall and short the spring. This is the right season to ask! In order of user:

- Lands' End straight legs, purchased late in the fall. They're actually tapered a bit but fit nicely, not skinny.

- American Eagle skinny kick jeans. These are extremely well-proportioned to look like flares on me, although the hems are less than 1" larger than the knees. I love it because I get the flare look without being swamped in fabric, which otherwise happens in a double-digit size.

- Lands' End wide leg jeans, exactly the same as cjh has. They're straight all the way down, so still snug on the thigh but extremely roomy elsewhere. They add a lot of visual weight but it doesn't always bother me, depending on the top.

- No Find yet, but I'm also wearing some old AE jeans, not quite skinny since they're not completely snug on my lower legs. They have a good amount of stretch so I've been using them for working in the yard. And I already got grass stains on the seat and knees that won't come out so they really shouldn't be worn out in society!

To answer your question:

I am well covered in most jeans trends because jeans – and bottoms in general – are the most on-trend component of my style! I also wear them for 10 months of the year :)

I like to wear complex and statement jeans. I have relaxed straights, wide legs, wide crops, sailor jeans, trouser jeans, slit hems, cuffed jeans, flares, tuxedo stripes, pintucks, slim boyfriends, barrel legs, cropped flares, patterns, and some bright colours. Rises vary from mid to high.

Four old pairs have been demoted to wearing on "outdoorsy trails with doggies only”. I’d like to replace them with a few more pairs of white jeans, and maybe some bright green jeans.

Here is my current collection, and I've included the demoted ones:

I have 3 pair of tapered leg jeans - indigo, cream and black. One straight Levi’s and cropped wide white ones. I need another pair or two but can’t find the style I like yet.

I wear the white pair the least but not because of the cut. I don’t wear bright white in the winter.

I wear jeans a lot..
I have introduced 3 pair of wide leg jeans to my skinny and straight/boyfriend silhouettes. I have light, medium and dark wash in both styles and cream in a straight leg.
Skinnies are still a big part of my style as I wear them with oversized turtleneck sweaters as my winter uniform. I am not fond of the "semi-tuck" on me so I sport shorter turtlenecks with my wide leg jeans as an update for my winter uniform of turtleneck+bottoms+boots.
I do go back and forth between bottoms more than I thought I would.
I recently purchased a pair of black cargo joggers and am having fun trying that out with what is already in my closet.
I would love to score second hand a pair of the Rag and Bone Miramar jeans as I think that would be the "perfect" jean for me.
And finally, I would like to replace a pair of annoying gray jeans(fit well but waistband rolls down) however that is pretty low priority right now.

Mostly in order of frequency of wear, some shown below.
-Two Old Navy wide legs, one wider with frayed hems and lighter wash.
-Lands End wide legs, medium blue.
-Two St. John’s Bay wide legs, one black, one medium-darker blue wash.
-Vera Wang loose straights with contrasting denim sides.
-Liz Claiborne dark wash slim straights, rather stretchy and too big in waist, need to alter or add elastic into waistband. My favorite for “dressing up”.
-Liz Claiborne slightly barrel leg, with seam down fronts of legs. This was described as cargo in product description but I don’t think of it that way. A little short for cold weather.
-Two pair straight legs, one lighter wash, one medium, two sizes but fit is identical, from Meijer, new. They have no fitting room in the store, so I brought home two sizes and both are the same good fit.
-SO (Kohl’s) washed black, straight leg with square pockets on front, no
new.

Two older, very worn pairs boot cuts worn for yard work, etc.
A large shopping bag of about 8 pairs skinnies and slightly too tight otherwise, holding - possibly ready to donate.

My collection is quite lean at the moment. Two pairs (exact dupes, so really more like one pair) of Gap "Sky-High Straights" which have rips and distressing. One pair of Rag and Bone Miramar "liquid silk" jeans, which are not true denim but heavenly soft french terry printed to look like denim, down to the rivets.

One pair very recently acquired and not yet hemmed high rise wide-leg dark wash jeans from Unpublished.

The gaps I hope to fill:
1. A white pair.
2. A black pair.

The factors that make jeans tricky for me:
1. Need a very high rise.
2. Not too much volume in the hip area.
3. I don't want whiskering.

Although I have put away my skinnies, I am definitely wearing what might be called slim straights as well as some somewhat wider jeans. Wide legs are not the easiest silhouette for me because my bottom half is proportionally smaller than my top but I am not ready to go back to true skinnies.

I admire both your collections Suz and Carla - you both have more variety than I manage...

I have four pairs - but one have rips now so are very much home jeans (The G Star - third find). Mine are all straight legs, two I have cropped (G Stars and Levis) and two are full length (Agolde and Garcia). The dark wash Garcia are the most fitted and mostly get worn for work. I don't know if I will add additional jeans in this year or not, I was considering black bootcuts for a while. But I really want jeans that will work with my lace up boots and I don't think bootcuts will.....

I haven't worn jeans since early December - when I wore them for practical purposes for a work move. I try to avoid them as much as possible from December to the end of February which has been possible this year as we have had a long hot summer.
