In the meantime I have bought some leather Aldo boots in black and very similar style to the rainboots - the leather is even a bit shiny, but not patent. They didn't have the rainboots in store and I was tempted by $120 boots that would replace a pair I wore to death. I don't think I would want two pairs so similar in appearance if not fabrication/use, so I have some thinking to do ;)<br /> I've noticed the bloom issue with the hunters! They claim it wipes off easily, is that true?<br /> Suz, I have luck with Aldo - reasonable quality for the price point. I have been wanting tall, classic&nbsp;Hunters forever, and have already gone through a pair of cheaper substitutes that I currently hate and are also hurting my feet. But having finally given myself permission to splurge on the Hunters, I'm finding that nothing available is really truly singing to me to spend the $200 (with tax etc). And I really do need rain boots for my lifestyle, I still reach for the awful ones often. But for how much longer this season, until I need snow boots?<br />Sorry..
