The "lattice check print boat neck" is going to give you that babydoll, no waist definition problem that you are trying to avoid. I think the first two are best suited for waist definiton. I'd be careful about getting too many sleeveless tops for the fall/winter. Yes you can layer them, but how many sleeveless layering pieces do you need really? I'd spend my money on 3/4 sleeve tops.

I like the second one best (already have an AT wrap top so trying to restrain myself from buying it followed by the first. The rest are fine but could live with or without them. For the first top, you could also try wearing it with a shorter jacket or cardi - it may or may not work but was wondering how that would interplay with that front tie.

Like everyone else, I favor the first one the most. It is much more classic to me than the others. The print that I liked best was the cami--I think the same one Dani mentions above. It seems useful for layering. The other prints are a little too busy for me, but I'm kinda a print-o-phobe.

I like the first one and the geo print cami. I think you can layer those well under cardigans or jackets for the fall. The others have given great suggestions for items to pair them with.

I really like the first one. The second one is cute as well, but it looks a bit shorter so it would probably work for skirts only. The fourth (cami) would look cute layered under cardigans or V-neck sweaters.

I think you are definitely on the right track. I like all of these, but think the first white top is the strongest. The other tops look like they will be very nice and versatile for layering.

Funny, I like the ones Sarah mentioned best as well. AND I was thinking of suggesting a cardi for the first one, and a denim jacket for the top too;-)

The first white top (sateen one) is a bit longer, so this would be good for trousers (pinstripe and micro-check might be fun to spice things up a bit) and jeans, I think.
Come to think of it, the second white top you linked to, might work too. It seems to be a little shorter, so maybe you could pair it with a denim A-line skirt, or something in a fun colour/print?

And for the shadow geo print cami: maybe underneath a brighter coloured cardi (kelly green, berry red...) and paired with dark-wash denim clamdiggers?

I like the first one, MVM. You could easily wear that with a cardi, you just wouldn't button it. Make sure it's a fitted cardi and not boxy.
I like the second to last top, also. It does seem a bit dark. You could possibly wear a denim jacket with it?
The rest of the tops either seem dated or are not structured enough, in my opinion.

Several questions coming up!

For starters, it's been several years since I've bought anything from Ann Taylor. How does sizing run? Also, are returns thru the mail easy with them?

What do you think of these shirts for me? Remember, I'm a rectangular hourglass. I think these are all good layering pieces right? What pieces (pants, cardi's etc.) would you suggest to match with these?
http://www.anntaylor.com/catal.....038;size=8 (can't decide on white or black) Also, how can I wear this for fall? With the tie in front a cardi won't work will it?
