I'm short, and their stuff fits me. They make petite sizes! Not many companies do. Admittedly I am not wide, but I'm not desperately thin, either. It's true that their models are VERY tall and thin, but I'm pretty sure that when they do a photo shoot, they have to strategically pin the clothes at the back to make them fit. I bet their models are swimming in a lot of those styles. Because I'm swimming in even their smallest size of bootcut jeans, for example! And a lot of their catalogues in the past have been wonderful. Made me want to go over to the preppy side! And the models normally don't look gawky to me, but relaxed and chic. But in this catalogue, it seemed like the designers were trying to make them all look completely waist-free, or with their waists up by their armpits. I have to say, it's one of the worst look-books I've ever seen them put out. Almost nothing appealed to me. Admittedly, it's partly because I'm not a fan of Easter egg colours, which were everywhere (and that's a personal thing; there is nothing inherently wrong with pastels, of course), but I thought they made all the models look gawky and badly-proportioned. And J. Crew normally does such a good job of making preppy seem like the most desirable aesthetic on Earth!</p> <p>Maybe I'm just a negative creep today, but has anyone else seen the catalogue? </p>
