Mind you I've lugged this thing around for 2-3 years, so it's held up well considering. I found them to be very uncomfortable and never use mine, because they are so wide and the strap is so wide-set that they don't sit right against my narrowish back unless it's the very small one, in which case you might as well just use a real purse. I think you are around my size so you might have the same issue. Timbuk2 bags seem to be more "man-sized" to me. REI used to sell bag straps, maybe they still do.<br /> I know this is gear, but I haul lunch, drink, stainless steel coffee mug, book, umbrella, phone, wallet, call paperwork and sometimes pager. Basically a lot of stuff, and it needs to be durable for the bus. I wear street clothes when commuting, but I don't care what I look like for the most part.<br /> I know I can do custom coloring if I special order, but I need a bag tonight, unless I carrying my stuff tomorrow in a plastic grocery bag.
