I have found that shorter rise pants are easier to semi tuck long tops (such as this one shown) into, whereas my almost too short for pants tops semi tuck well into my higher rise bottoms. To lower the visual line of a higher rise pant when I semi tuck I also like to match the belt to the color of the top.
