Christine, one more idea: I think light green, lime and citron work really well with red (and unlike darker greens they won't look christmas-y).
I got my Jockey camis online; they often have discounts that you can find by typing something like "Jockey promo code" in the search box. Besides Express, the BP department at Nordstrom is a good source for camis, and Macys usually has a decent selection as well.

I never even thought of an animal print!! I've never tried animal print, so I'm not really sure if it's me or not. I'll have to keep my eye out for one. Unfortunately we don't have Express in Canada (or at least, not in my city). I'll check out Walmart - they carry Jockey, right?

Christine, I too am used to wearing neutral camis with shirts. I would like to experiment more with color combinations as well. I was at Express this week and found a cute black and white leopard print cami. If that's your style, it might look cute paired with a red shirt.

Turquoise is a good idea. Cream will work for sure. Other brighter ideas are pink, purple or orange. All three look super with red, even if it might seem counterintuitive. Finally, I love animal print with red, but I don't know if it's your style, it's definitely more dramatic. Jockey and Express often have animal print camis.

April - turquoise is a good idea. I was also thinking light blue. I'm Canadian, so I don't have to worry as much about flags, but I think there has to be some contrast for sure. Either a lighter color (light blue, lighter turquoise) or darker color like black. Royal blue would be too close to the same color value as the red, I'm thinking. Does that make sense?

Christine, I so understand this problem. I have always stuck with neutrals and now that I am trying more color, I don't know what to put with what. I don't own anything red, and I think this is why -- no idea what color to wear with it. Red with blue is too flaglike. Red with white is too candy cane. Red with green is too Christmas-sweater.

I guess if it's just a cami peeking out, you could be fairly bold. Would a turquoise cami be too dramatic?

I have a cute red top that needs a cami. I've been wearing it with just plain black (with either black pants or dark wash jeans), but I'd like to be more adventurous with color (remember, I'm a little color challenged for some reason).

Anyway, what color cami would you wear under a red top?
