It is really a great neutral. I love it especially with bright ruby red, white, vivid blues, and navy. I wore my deep olive field jacket most of the winter/early spring with nearly every outfit. I agree - not beiges/camels/browns, and not other greens.  Aside from that I think most other colours can work.  I do like olive with tan leather though. I am having a hard time thinking of a color that I would not pair with olive -- perhaps emerald green would be a shade that I would not think to combine with olive. I used to wear all of the Autumn colors with it, especially plum, dark red, chestnut, and mustard. I don't wear those colors as much, but I wear a lot of grey and most shades of blue with olive. Always wondering what colors to put with it, which depend somewhat on whether your olive is warm or cool.  For example I tend to think of black, light blue, light grey, lavender (thanks to a recent Angie client posting) and white. And denim. For shoes & bags I think of black, white, grey, silver, gold, bronze.  It's very versatile.
