It was a struggle getting it on. I put it on backwards and turned it around. Now that it's been on for an hour, it feels fine. In the mirror, I think my body looks a little narrower because as you say, everything is pushed forward. I think I DO look a little better in a tee. I found a picture of the pattern. I've always worn nude and black bras only, and I favor the Invisible Edge panties from Soma.  I have been trying some of the prints lately (I know, really partying hard, aren't I?) and I like the dots and the animal prints that harmonize with my bras. I think with your change in lifestyle, it's a great time to have more fun with your "first layer."  It might help you enjoy a more casual wardrobe, too! The pink disappeared underneath white in a way no beige ever had. I'm learning so much. Great tip on the silver bra. My 'smalls' fall into two camps: functional and pretty. The first group are moulded cups in nude or black for wearing under tees or light coloured silk tops (worn with cotton no-show briefs, aka granny pants). I have a great deal of trouble with these bras. I need a lined cup for modesty, but find moulded bra s never fit quite right and are awful on side support. I end up feeling both uncomfortable and matronly. The second group are much more comfortable and pretty, but my wears are more limited as most of my tops demand function. There's only one brand of bra I feel truly comfortable and fab in, but it's a French brand and my size is impossible to find in the USA. I've always worn nude-for-me bras and panties under white, but I just recently realized that the "nude" I currently have is no longer nude for me because it is too dark. It shows as a shadow under lighter clothing, and I dislike it; I prefer my underthings not to show at all. But I am quite pale, so perhaps I should give silver a try. As for the colors of bras I buy, I wear a lot of dark colours, so my bra wardrobe tends to be black, more black and fun colours. For underwear and bras, I have some practical ones (for when see-through is a problem) and some pretty ones that are in colors. I actually have a bra in a reddish fuschia by Natori that I love. I normally pick my outfit first and then pick the bra, unless for some reason I am really wanting to wear particular underpinnings, in which case I reverse the process. But generally the outfit comes first. If you feel like some pretty underthings are calling your name, I would definitely get some. You don't need a whole bunch--I have three pretty bras and maybe only one piece of pretty underwear. Just get a few pieces of each and you should be set, at least for starters. Usually I can find an ivory or cream that works pretty well, or a light pink that's not too pigmented. I have had a couple of light gray bras that worked pretty well too. I like the look of white under white too, even if you can see the edges of the underlayer; I think it looks nicely crisp. But maybe that's because there's not a ton of contrast between my skin and the white in the first place. I've got bras in all kinds of colors, although the neutrals probably get the most wear. I always pick out my outfit first and then choose which bra works with it. The fitter brought some Chantelle for me to try as well. Not even a close fit. There were two other Natoris I tried too. Both were just off in 32G. Likely a 30GG or 30H would have been perfect. Of course, they weren't available to try. Also, you are so right about straps vs tops. I wear mostly sleeveless tops in the Spring/Summer. Some work well with my standard bra with wider set straps. I couldn't try on the silver bra because it wasn't available in anything resembling my size. Although I likely won't post pictures, I will report back on comparisons when the silver bra arrives. Janet, based on your comments on Tex's thread, I think we're similar in size. These are all 32G. My video-calculated measurement was 30GG. I also hear you on the effort to not save the pretty underwear. I have to say, it was HARD to cut the tags off a $70 bra this morning:-). However, it is much more fun to wear it than the plain, boring $50 bra I've been wearing for years. Suz, it's a hot pink bra that's calling my name as well!
