Hm, turquoise is in the lead, with air force blue in second... thanks, everyone! I guess I will take the purple out of the running for now.

I had no idea you could do this!

My vote is for Air Force blue, because I like that color and it might be a way to up the dressiness when wearing denim.

Ooh thanks for the links Rae! That second one with the black bag, holy cow that's amazing! I'll definitely look into those Tarrago Color Dyes, they have so many colors to choose from (hello, dark taupe gray!). Do post a review when you dye your bag, I'd love to see how it turns out and what you think of the process!

Can't wait to hear how this turns out! I vote for air force blue. But-wait- if you have lots of red, the turquoise might be a better color. Love red and turquoise.. so changing mind as I write: turquoise!

Aida, if your interested in further research, these threads shows amazing examples of what people have done... and I've yet to hear a single complaint about the process being too complicated. The dye is also super cheap!

I have no tips, but I will be watching this thread as I have a leather jacket I've been wanting to dye for over a year now but am too wussy to do it So! Please post what you end up doing, I'm so curious! Also I love turquoise, so I vote that (Also it'll look pretty with your deep winter coloring, yes? I think so!).

I picked up a great quality bag for just $10 at Goodwill the other day -- but even after the leather cleaner, the dusty lavender color is showing more wear and dirt than I like, and it doesn't seem to go with my wardrobe. I've read some fantastic stories about refurbishing using leather dye. But which color to choose? The ones I'm leaning toward are:

purple 23
air force blue 58
turquoise 105

I'd also consider bright red 105, since I don't have a red bag -- however the thought of a red bag is not so exciting since I have SO many red clothing items.

Any opinions very much appreciated.

ETA color chart... duh.
