My go to outfit is lined leggings and a long tunic sweater or long tank top with a tunic length cardigan. By long it has to come just below the mid point of my thigh at a minimum. Longer to the knee also works well for me. I really like a woven skirt too. My other thing is, I like jeggings - heavier/pants weight leggings. I think that they work well with anything from sandals to tall boots, but the have to be reasonably refined and not too gear-like. I especially like them with footwear with a little bit of metallic or patent leather styling. As Sveta says, I wear them with tunics, dresses or long cardigans buttoned as tunics plus minus belts w a blazer over them. Booties or knee high boots. I wear danskin leggings they are matte w no sheen or seams. Eileen Fisher makes some of the best tunics out there.
