Ha, for those of you who are saying leggings are too tight ... I have a pair of gap modal leggings that are too big which are perfect for these sorts of days. I always buy my leggings one size up, but it turns out these already run large so they are quite loose in the waist. Miraculously they stay up fine though. The modal is less clingy than poly or cotton leggings too.

Its usually a time when my chest looks fuller, so I wear empire waist tops that are gathered, also love low rise yoga pants for around the house...can't stand anything tight at the midsection. These are all great looks you picked!

Bloated tummy is a thing of the past for me, but I still get cyclic breast swelling*. I find that bras with any kind of padding or lining make it way worse, so I always buy unlined underwire bras that have cups with only a thin layer of stretchy fabric. Luckily nipple show-through is not an issue for me!

If I'm just having a day where I want to be comfy, though, I'm like Greyscale. Loose, low-rise jeans are far more comfortable than leggings or any kind of tights. Anything stretchy and tight across my belly ranks up there as one of the more UNcomfortable things for me!

(*Janet, if you're reading this -- I use breast changes to track my cycles. They're still pretty regular, and it has been more than two years since my surgery. Would that work for you? I find it somehow reassuring to continue tracking my cycle).

I just bought two pairs of jeans 2 sizes up from my normal size so that there's always something I can wear on those days. Like a lot of you, I hate the feeling of constriction on my tummy - but loose, low-rise jeans are better for me than leggings or tights or anything with an elastic waist.

I tend to reach for my loosest softest old jeans, a comfy sweater and either no belt or one with lots of extra holes! Hubby pats my bloated stomach and says : "twins is it?" grrr!!!

No jeans, that's for sure. I must have soft intestines or jeans are just too stiff. I get terrible stomach pains from the pressure.

Lol I love dashielle's sleeping bag wish.

Snuggies? Do those count as clothes? ;)

My comfy outfits are basically the same - leggings, long knit top, cardigan, flat boots. Sometimes I can't deal with the waist cinching that happens with jeans.

leopardluxe - your outfits are great and it kind of inspires me to create a purposeful 'comfy but stylin' capsule.

I have your exact tendency in both palette and shape in general, but would say that I tend to spend more time playing with new looks when not hormonal. On hormonal days I fall back to the "don't have to think" outfits and work on fighting the urge to pull on my hoodie and hide :-). I always feel like a cold is in the offing at that time, so if I could wear a sleeping bag (belted, of course) I would

I don't do tunics so my go-to items are BF jeans for looseness. Although I'm never totally sure when I'm hormonal since my hysterectomy last year. I still have ovaries so I guess I still have a cycle, just no more need for the "feminine hygiene" aisle in Target! There are definitely some weeks I figure that must be what is going on with me.

Mine are basically the same as my "long haul air travel" outfits. Nothing with tight waistband or too stiff materials. In the winter I do something like your #2 - tunic/sweater dress, loose leggings, flat boots. Or my Gap BF jeans, belt on a very loose hole (just enough to keep them from sliding off), tee, and sweater/knit jacket. In summer, I do a sack dress and a pair of my cork footbed Naots.

Oh my gosh, yes! It's hardest for me in winter, so I try to keep at least one pair of jeans that are a size bigger than I usually wear but still look good. And it's cardigans or knit tops all the way. It's much easier when the weather is warmer because there are so many cute knit dresses out there, especially maxi dresses.

Also, my shoulders and back get sore really easily. I recently had a bit of a breakthrough there - I discovered that necklaces or heavy rings make my shoulders and wrists tight and achy if I wear them to work and sit/type with them on all day. Just that little bit of weight makes my back or wrists cramp up. Now for work I always do fun earrings and soft drapey scarves because they're pretty and comfortable at the same time.

Love your outfits by the way, for any time of the month.

So this question might make some uncomfortable (apologies if that's the case). But since the last two days of my outfits have pretty much been hormonally driven I wanted to ask.

As women we all have those lovely hormones that often fluctuate. For me, when mine are at a certain stage, that feeling of puffiness, everything itches/scratches, my joints ache puts a definite spin on what I will wear that I feel like still looks decent while also being extra comfortable.

If anyone else has this hormonally induced wardrobe --what are your go-to outfits or clothing items?

So, mine tend to be tunics and flat boots and/or oversized sweaters and leggings (and also, now, those fabulous pajama jeans!)

So the three photos I've included here are definitely representative of the typical outfit/style I lean towards when my hormones are raging.

If you're comfortable sharing, how do you adjust your style (or do you?) on those days when everything feels like it looks and feels awful?
