I like the spring weight because I always wear them as a layer, not as a stand alone item, so light weight is like super heavy weight tights. I also love capri length because it eliminates unnecessary bulk with my boots. </p> <p>I know you mentioned quality, and they aren't quality,but they are a great way to pick up a pair and see how they work without being out a ton of cash. I have a hard time thinking of leggings as an investment item. </p> <p>Hilarious full disclosure follows: My all time favorite leggings? Old Navy maternity leggings. They are cheap and they have a great waistband that lies very flat and doesn't create extra bulk. I bought them while pregnant and wore the heck out of them, then recently bought new ones. The rise is high enough to sit mid belly. However, I know the idea of wearing maternity wear outside pregnancy is taboo for most of us, so I don't expect anyone to do like I do. You all inspired me to look more closely at the boots. What has been catching the tights are little metal teeth at the top of the zipper. I got out my pliers and squeezed them tighter so they don't stick out anymore. Yay! I think my tights will live longer now. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier.</p> <p>I really appreciate the recommendations. I think I do want to find some good quality thin tights. I just wash them by hand, never in the machine. If they are truly snagging on your boots, I'm not sure if thicker tights are the way to go. How about thin leggings? I like to cross my legs and if I don't do it perfectly, the zipper catches while my leg is on it's way over the knee. it's happened too many times. :(</p> <p>I just got some Anne Klein tights at TJ Maxx a couple of days ago. I wore them yesterday to church and couldn't get them off fast enough! I was tempted to use scissors. They wouldn't stay up and slid on my leg with every step... drove me nuts.
