Shiny, I was wearing mine today and I didn't notice that. They continue to be really comfortable for me. I'm used to wearing shoes and boots with more of a heel and I find the Paul Green booties to be a really nice change.

I have the exact same Paul Green booties, they fit great, are comfortable, and are beautiful. Except every time I wear them they feel so heavy on my feet after about an hour or so... sigh.

Do you have that issue too?

These are the three that I have Finds for and seem to fit the bill. My style of course is totally casual, but the boots especially get compliments when I wear them and the Ecco sneaks get positive reinforcement too, though they aren't *as" comfortable as I'd like on the top of the foot.

Hands down, the Spring Step L'Artiste Dramatic Booties in Camel Multi are the most exquisite yet comfortable booties I've ever owned.

If you fab folk don't know about Spring Step yet-- I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone and everyone who, like me, requires a supportive and comfortable shoe yet refuses to walk out of her apartment looking anything less than fashionable and elegant.

Hi jill58! I hear you on wanting shoes that combine comfort and style. Things have improved with the designers that offer options but I will confess that I am still quite envious of women I see out and about who don't need to contend with foot issues or at least orthotics.

A few things to note: I have extremely high arches, narrow heels, narrow width feet, and a Morton's Neuroma on the left foot and a MN that was surgically removed from the right about 6 months ago. I also wear rigid full-length orthotics in my shoes with metatarsal pads. My shoe shopping needs to consist of brands that meet my fussy feet needs and also have a removable footbed. My needs are quite different from yours and others, but in the interest of helping others and also trying to preserve sanity, here are a list of brands I found that accommodate my orthotics but also offer comfort and style for shoes. Some brands are better in the style department than others. I also try to avoid shoes that flex or fold in half as these will never offer sufficient support and also allow too much flexing of the forefoot.

Aetrex - Ara - Aravon - Arcopedico - Bearpaw - Bellini - Bostonian - Boxer Dogs Shoes - CAT Footwear - Clarks - Cobb Hill - Crocs - Dansko - Dr. Comfort - Dromedaris - Dr. Weil Footwear - Drew - Dunham Shoes - Earth Footwear - Earthies - ECCO - Hush Puppies - Klogs - Mephisto - Merrell - Munro - Naot - Oh! - Olukai - Oofos - OTZ Shoes - P.W. Minor Shoes - Rieker - Ros Hommerson - Sanita - Sanuk - Sofft - Softwalk - Sorel - Spira Spring Shoes - Springboost - Strive Footwear - Trotters - Vionic/Orthaheel - Wolky - Ziera (formerly known as Kumpf)

My personal favorites thus far include Dromedaris, Naot, Clarks Unstructured line, Wolky, Sorel, and Dansko. I would also recommend the website "Barking Dog Shoes" as the site creator reviews thousands of pairs for feet of different needs. It's nice to look and see what new brands have arrived and also one can review the shoes reviewed by identifying your major need whether it's plantar fasciitis, Morton's Neuroma, wide with, bunions, hammertoes, etc.

Hope this helps!!!

Late and not sure these are stylish, but they are nearly perfect for travel.

These Born flats are very light weight to pack in your bag. The soles are grippy for uneven terrain, They have some padding for all day wear. For me the straps help keep them on and stable and is adjustable with Velcro. The rounded toe is just rounded enough to keep toes happy but not so much as to date. The color is a greyish navy (called "blue") which seems to blend with everything. I got them at the Rack in my normal size.

I'm looking for brown booties or shoes to replace the ones I just laid to rest. I want some that have a really retro/vintage vibe, like newsies would have worn in the 30s (rounded toe, 0.5" to 1" heel). Some of the shoes Firecracker and Unfrumped posted are kind of in that direction, but not as far as I want to go. I don't know search terms for that, so I mostly browse shoes and booties on sales sites, looking for the right ones. Oxfords might work, but so might others

Dunno if the brand is available overseas, but I've been a fan of minimalist Vagabond shoes for 10+ years, these sandals (Minho) in particular. The leather is super soft, they never gave me any blisters, rubber sole is comfy and supportive, and I find the T-strap quite slimming. The ankle strap is positioned quite low so it cuts my leg at the slimmest point. I've worn Minho with everything, and in my eyes they elevate even the simplest of outfits. Plus they're super durable and this model has been around for years, so I didn't have a problem when I needed to replace a pair.

Firecracker--I too love Born and now Naot. I considered ordering the Louise et Cie oxfords during NAS but ended up not buying anything. I would love for them to go on sale again. That was probably the one purchase I should have made.
dakotacheryl--I have never tried EF shoes. I like the thought of a lower heel. So glad you survived your accident! Hope you let them know at ES. Maybe they can do something to modify the design. I had a similar accident with a brand new pair of Keen sandals--the footbed was so slick that when I tripped slightly on a sidewalk I landed flat on my face. It was really a shock!
cindysmith--Will take a look at Naya. I'd forgotten about Ariat although I did have a pair of sandals from them that were very comfortable. The Vic Matie moccasins are gorgeous.
Gryffin--I could be very happy with nothing but black footwear although I'm starting to throw in some pewter. You have a gorgeous collection of boots. I would be happy to wear any of them.
Greyscale--If you have time and have a Nordstrom Rack near you, check there for Paul Green. I will take a look at Atelje71.
Karen13--It took me a minute to get my mind around the Keen Uneek. I looked at them in other colors and now I think I understand them better. An acquired taste, maybe, but already I'm starting to like the look.
Bijou-- Love your patent leather boots!

I bought these Paul Green patent boots for this Australian winter and they have been fantastic, they would qualify as my favourite purchase of 2017. I will definitely look at Paul Green shoes in the future, despite their relatively high cost, because the comfort factor is very good. My doc marten boots are also extremely comfortable, a fun casual shoe if you don't mind the heavy look of these boots.

My Chippewa snake boots are workhorses, because they were designed for physical work. However, I get so many compliments on how cute the boots are that I often reach for them for style reasons alone. They're that rare breed of footwear that functions well, looks good, and has arch support+ comfortable padding for the soles.

Ariat does really well at the same thing: function, comfort, style.

I've had good luck with Cole Haan. Some of their shoes have Nike air tech in them.

Naya does a good job of combining comfort and style. I have some sandals from them that have great arch support.

OTBT does some comfortable and cute footwear. I don't get all of the arch support I like from the shoes I've had from them, but they don't hurt my feet at least.

Last but definitely not least, for me personally, are my Bates tactical boots. They're a combat style boot made for professionals (cops, firefighters, EMT personnel, etc), so they work for my RATE sensibilities and give me all-day-long comfort at my work. I don't know what the rest of their product line looks like, so I don't know if they make anything that would be considered cute or stylish for non-RATE style sensibilities, but I had to mention them for casual wear simply because they really are comfortable for the entire 10 or 11 hours I'm on my feet at work every Friday.

Honorable mention: my Vic Matie loafers. Comfortable enough that my feet don't hurt after a day of running errands and such.

Another Paul Green fan here. I also like Born and Naot for comfort, when I can find styles I like. Also Donald J. Pliner. And Think! And I have a pair of booties by Jo Ghost that I adore. I kind of want to wear them every day. They molded to my feet and feel now like they were custom-made.

If Paul Green works for you, the oxfords I got at NAS by Louise et Cie might work also. They are surprisingly comfy, and I love the style. I will say, they don't have quite the same arch support as Paul Green, but still, they are all-day, on-my-feet, walk-to-the-bus shoes.

I will admit that some of these shoes I'm putting in Finds are less stylish than others, to my eye.

I have to relate a story about my other new fall shoe purchase...a pair of Elizabeth Suzann mules in black. They are gorgeous, buttery soft leather, hand sewn and with a leather sole. The first day I put them on (two weeks ago) I promptly slid/fell down half a staircase at home. OMG did I have bruises, missing skin on hip and elbow, wrenched shoulder. Luckily nothing was broken. Brought those slippery beauties to the shoe repair shop and had a non-skid layer put over those leather soles.

I love shoes and boots. The first find is my NAS purchase from this summer. They are comfortable, but so far it's too warm to wear them, so time will tell. The Eileen Fisher Soul Booties I kicked myself for not buying immediately as they sold out so fast. I found them new on eBay!! So comfy.
The Cobb Hill shoes #3, were so comfy, I bought in two colors, second summer and still all day comfy.
I have the Sorel Joan of Arctic in two boot styles...totally fabulous and could run in these if I needed two.
The Kelsi Dagger boots filled a desire for a combat style boot that wasn't too huge looking...these are wonderful and all day comfy.
The Eileen Fisher Even booties are super comfy, and I love that heel design. I spray protected these booties as well as the Soul Booties. So far, so good.
The Franca mixed hair booties are just plain fun to wear. I did have the zippers replaced as the originals wouldn't stay zipped up.
The Birkenstocks are just a little fancier version of the plain Arizonas. My feet LOVE Birks!!

The Keen Uneek is a very casual look you have to be willing to embrace, but I've received compliments from several fashionable high school girls - and it is cool, airy, protects to top of my feet from sun and I can put my orthotics in it!! And I'm really liking the Ecco Soft 8s with thin socks.

I have a short and wide foot (6.5D) with very sensitive little toe and "6th" toe area. The soft ball of the Keens and the high top on the Ecco's seem to work with my slight pump bump.

I'm interested to see Coclico (Aziraphale) and Hispanitas (Dianna) mentioned since I hadn't heard of them before.
Paul Green seems to be a favorite (Angie, Jane, Unfrumped and me) for both style and comfort. In addition to the 'Jay' chelsea boots (also in Unfrumped's collection) I have a pair of 'Cayanne's that I found at The Rack and a pair of 'Hana' sandals which rang up as one-cent (see link for details https://www.racked.com/2015/4/.....-cent-deal. I can't imagine scouring The Rack for these deals but it was fun when it happened).
I was surprised that more people didn't mention Birkenstocks since they trend in and out and seem to be quite popular right now. Christina F., I too like the metallic 'Mayari.'
BC -- you are the queen of Danskos!
AndiB --I too covet Brooklyn's ankle boots. I'm afraid our only hope is eBay
Lisa P -- I'm not a sneaker wearer for anything other than exercise, but I love those metallic runners -- also the black suede shoes--so pretty.
Gigi -- I don't think ballet flats ever go out of style.
Angie, Nadya, Suz, Lisa -- Lots of great shoes, none of which scream "comfort."
Thistle -- I'm going to take a look at Eccos. You and Suz both mentioned them and I think remember Angie writing about them.

I have two pairs of shoes from Atelje71 that are fantastic for my blocky feet and high arches. But they're both clunky shoes (a Rick Owens vibe).

I've also had good luck with Paul Green. I'm still eyeing those d'orsay flats with the x strap that unfrumped posted in her comment. Not in my budget given how rarely I wear anything but sneakers or boots, for now, but so tempting.

I don't have anything in my finds anymore - so here is the newest shoe that is covering those two criteria for the moment. A soft metallic runner from Geox. I picked them up a couple of weeks ago for a work trip and wore them one day with a denim wedge dress and other day with white jeans, a black Smythe jacket and a t-shirt. Both times with no socks - and they won the gold medal for comfort and style.

The black suede ones have also proven winners on both comfort and style fronts. I am SO particular about shoes and style , that I would rather change my look a little to work with whatever comfortable shoes I can find that I would wear....than just buy some comfort shoe and wear them with what I have. Does that make any sense? I wear more sneakers now than ever and have thus worked my look around them. I wear more dresses and jeans now because of that, and far fewer skirts and tailored pants. Most of the traditional comfort shoe brands leave me utterly cold.

Define stylish... ;)

I like Munros and Mephisto, when you can find a stylish pair.

I like AGLs when they don't run too narrow.

I wish PGs worked for me, but these tend to run too narrow after breaking my ankle when it meets my foot.

I've had some luck with Eccos.

Haha well six years ago I wouldn't have even had to think about it -- the answer would have been "Fluevogs" -- but lately they've been making the most hilarious, unwearable clown shoes that the "style" part of your equation no longer applies! I mean, their stuff was always a little arty and/or offbeat, but there were always plenty of elegant options. Maybe they changed designers? Some of my favourite and most comfortable shoes are still Fluevogs, though.

I think what I'd say now might be Coclico. I've got a pair of Coclico ankle boots as well as a pair of sandals that are both stylish and wildly comfortable. The downside? The cost. :-(

Paul Green! I was introduced to the brand by YLF last year and have a pair of their brogues. So comfortable.

In the office (not to the office!) I wear heels, LK Bennett. I have 2 pairs, one navy suede and one black patent.

At weekends, its bootees or sneaks. I've also some Stuart Waltzman knee high boots - which are comfy enough.

PG win for me and I've just ordered some new brogues from them.

Really helpful to read everyone's comments and some good tips on where else I can look.
