Thanks for all the responses so far ladies! I am getting so inspired from all of your lovely combos. Inge, I love when you describe full outfits, I can totally picture them in my head. I might even copy some if you don't mind

Another great thread, I'm getting tons of inspiration from this.

OK, for me it's not just about colour combinations, but also about how they are in proportion to each other. Meaning: what's the dominant colour in an outfit, what's the accent colour etc.
I look horrible in a bright red sweater or cardi for example, but can pull that exact same colour red off worn as a cami underneath a darker cardi or underneath a black V-neck empire-waist dress (with a small flower pattern, lots of tiny red, orange and white flowers).
So I'm going to list 'outfits' with colours that have worked for me, instead of just colour combinations.

- navy or ink blue cardi, raspberry cami and sage green scarf
- chocolate brown sleeveless empire-waist dress and sage green pashmina (worn as a wrap)
- teal V-neck faux-wrap sweater and a blue cami (a cool blue that resembles the blue in the middle, last row here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I.....n_blue.svg)
- eggplant blouse (a 'pull-on', i.e. no buttons but with a deep V-neck) and blue (same as above) cami
- eggplant blouse, mauve slip-over and charcoal pin-striped trousers
- eggplant blouse, mauve slip-over and tweedy brown wide-legged trousers
- navy or ink blue V-neck faux-wrap sweater and daffodil cami
- chocolate brown V-neck faux-wrap sweater and daffodil cami
- bright blue button-down shirt and charcoal pin-striped trousers (works with other greys too)
- black sweater with asymmetrical collar and a tweedy blue fuller type skirt (blue resembling the blue on the right in the top row: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I.....n_blue.svg), black hose and black boots

I really like a completely black outfit as well, but not everybody can pull that off. Especially something classy and simple like black lightweight wool pants, straight-legged, with a feminine button-down shirt, très French to me.

(and you wouldn't say so after reading the above, but my favourite colour is green actually;-)

I've had to think hard about this:

white and most shades of blue
black and most shades of blue
navy and citron
navy and silver
white and two bold colors
chocolate and cream (for fall)

I like blue I guess

These color combos are a wonderful idea! They have really given me some ideas. I hope everyone will do the same for fall/Winter colors. I have such a difficult time putting outfits together. I read YLF everyday for advise, encouragement and fun!
Thanks everyone!!!!

Wow. Great topic! I got so many great ideas.

My favorites are:

-fuschia or baby pink with silver grey
-white and blue (anything from sky blue to navy)
-turquoise with: pink (either baby pink or fuschia, or even somewhere in between - i love pink!), coral, white, black, silver grey, yellow
-orange and pink (like a lot of you) - reminds me of sherbert!

This was really hard to keep short. I see a lot of you have black and white, and while this is a combination I use, I have really been staying away from it lately. Maybe because it's summer and I'm having so much fun with color.

My basic colors are black and white and I wear these together or with any of my fav brights: red, all blues, turquoise, fuschia, lime green. Currently experimenting with blue and white (thanks Angie!)

I also like brown & black together

gray and yellow (this is my current fav combo!)

gray and any of my brights

beige and any of my brights

I tend to feel comfortable mixing my favorite brights with a neutral. The only way I will wear two brights is with my jewelry. For example: khaki pants/turquoise tank and lime green necklace. But some days I feel bold and will layer two different shades of the same color. I feel quite sassy on those days

Current favs:

- Black & white or cream
- Black, white and red
- Red and black
- Brown and white
- Black and khaki with cream accessories
- Fuschia and silver grey
- Olive green and white
- Cerise (from AT site and recently highlighted in an Angie blog.... kind of a rhubarb...) with white or khaki
- Zinnia (basically what AT calls orange....also highlighted in Angie's blog!) with white or khaki
- Inky blue with lime green
- Cream with lime green
- Layering of various shades of green -or- blue.... like navy with turquoise, or sage with lime green
- Brown and green
- White with turqoise

... basically I gravitate towards reds, greens and blues, with a shot of pink and orange thrown in. But no yellow. Just doesn't flatter me.

Fall color choices are a tad different... I don't wear as many true reds but instead prefer mauves, wines, and magentas (i.e., richer deeper more purply shades of red), and if I'm not wearing jeans I like charcoal gray or brown pants and skirts. On my fall list is a pair of cream wool slacks.

It depends on what you plan to wear for bottoms.

If you wear dark neutral bottoms, like black, you could keep it simple with a white cami, or be a little more daring with colors like yellow, orange, citron. Just keep the intensity the same as the kelly green.

If you want to wear it with white bottoms, then how about navy blue cami, or preppy pink, or black.

A delicious topic! How fab that there are few similarities between the members. Signature colour combos are in vogue.

White and Black has to be my all time favorite. I used to wear black bottoms with white tops, but now I wear white bottoms with black tops. I think it works so much better with my inverted triangle shape.

Purple and Soft Green
Coral and Turquois
Brown and White
Orange and White
Really, any color and White--I'm on a big white kick
Tan and Black
Olive Green and lime green
Bright Blue and Black
Yellow and Black and White (buzz buzz)
Hot Pink and Black

Okay, so some of these combinations come from mixing fabrics for quilts, but I think they work equally as well for clothing:

1. Olive green, cream, and gold
2. Navy and any bright color--lime, yellow, white, or coral are my favorites
3. Turquoise, white, and gold
4. White and silver or gold
5. Olive green, bright orange and hot pink
6. Brown, cream and Coral (for fall) and black, white and coral (for
spring/summer)
7. Olive green, citron, red, and white
8. Black, white, and yellow
9. Red, white, blue, and animal print
10. Cream or white, black and red
11. Brown and fuschia
12. Orange and white
13. Emerald green and gold (like Aisha!)
14. Citron, black and silver
15. Peach, cream, and white
