I know this is an old post, but I just had to jump in. I’m actually pretty new to the whole body-care product thing and don’t use anything exciting. I shop at the drugstore, and I’m not brand faithful, but here’s what I’m using now. In the shower I use Dove’s hypoallergenic soap. Occasionally I’ll use Caress moisturizing body wash instead. After I’ve dried off I use Jergens Untra Healing body lotion. For my face I use either Aveno or Olay face wash (not sure which I like better), and then I put Aveno 30 SPF sunscreen on my face, neck, and arms. That’s all for now, but some of the products you all use sound fun to try. I’ll have to check them out. Thanks for another great thread Tanya.

I try to go natural on my body products, but I get easily led into temptation! I am using Burt's Bees Milk and Honey body wash, also have the lotion. One of my favorite body creams is Nivea Soft. I used to use Neutrogena Sesame Oil but decided to forego all the other stuff in it and just use straight sesame oil after the bath. It works great! Make sure not to use dark or toasted sesame oil like you would in cooking, but light oil they sell in the body care section!

I love Trish McEvoy's no. 9 body scrub. I want to buy a lotion that gradually tans, as I have some of the whitest legs in San Diego!

another member of the eczema club here. I normally use Dove unscented moisterizing body wash but i currently switched to Burt's Bee Milk & Honey so see if i notice a difference since it supposed to be mostly all natural.

I feel so unsophisticated! I wash with Lever 2000. That's about it. I might throw on some unscented Lubriderm lotion if any part of my body looks or feels dry, but that is usually only a problem in the winter. I don't like smelling like fruit, or fluffy flowers. I prefer to just smell clean. I use whatever antipersperant/deoderant is on sale. I've even used my husband's Old Spice Spray in a pinch.

I do have to tend to my feet regularly. But even that is more of a tool proceedure than a product. I did put some Curel cream on my feet last night because I've been walking around barefoot or in flip flops a lot this weekend.

I only put sunscreen on my face, unless I'm going to be at the beach. At home, I park my self under one of my umbrellas and stay out of the sun. I even do my garden work, around the shade/sun cycle.

I forgot to mention something: I have very dry skin too and I was absolutely delighted about Weleda's Sea Buckthorn Body Lotion:
http://shop.weleda.com/item_de.....mCode=9750
Before that I thought 'silky smooth skin' was an advertising myth, but this really made my skin supersoft. It's annoying though that they only sell it in 100 ml bottles, they don't last me very long.

I love this kind of threads, thanks Tanya and Basia. They are very seductive though, I read about all the products you are using, and then I want to try out lots of them, and I must admit I'm very easily seduced by beautiful packaging as well;-)

I'm not really brand loyal as far as bath products are concerned. I like products with either no added scent or something lightly scented (at the moment I have a shower gel by Fa with coconut, and it smells great in the bottle but lingers on the skin and I actually get distracted by it throughout the day). The Kneipp body wash lavender is nice I think (http://store.kneippus.com/Knei.....ender.html, it's a different packaging than mine, so not sure if it's the same formula). Otherwise I just use La Roche-Posay's Lipikar.

Bodylotion: La Roche-Posay's Body Lotion or Galenco Dermalex Body Milk. In between I sometimes use Body Tonic by Garnier (the yellow bottle, smells nice) and different body oils. But now I'm curious about the Vichy Lipidose and the Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil, Basia!

I used to spent quite a lot of money on body scrubs, but now I make my own: just mix granulated sugar with some olive oil (yes, the kind you use in the kitchen). It works as well as the brand products, it smells very neutral and I never run out...
Oh yes: you can do this with salt as well, but I don't recommend it, if you have even the slightest cut or scratch it will sting horribly!

I'm not very brand loyal with body and bath products and tend to keep it simple. However, I recently discovered a body lotion that I think is AMAZING. I had it as an amenity during a hotel stay, took the rest of the little tubes home, and tried to stretch it out as long as I could, but now sadly it's all gone. It's pricey, so I'll try and refrain from buying it for myself on an ongoing basis but will put in on my Xmas list Anyway, it's a very rich creamy lotion with a wonderful lemon/sage scent. I felt a difference in the touch and look of my skin on my legs after just a few days. The best body lotion I've ever had on me. http://www.blissworld.com/prod.....+butter.do

I am very much not brand loyal when it comes to body products. I change just about every time. Right now, I'm using a french-milled soap that I found at the local natural foods store with an acai-pomegranate scent. I am sensitive to scents, generally, and for some reason the smell of soap (hand or body, liquid or solid) makes me ill and sneezy (I find Dove, Ivory, and Dial to be the worst). Those soaps with subtle scents and very few ingredients like the soap above are perfect for me.

What I do use consistently is body lotion. In the summer (or from April until October when skin baring clothes are appropriate) I use Lubriderm's SPF 15 body lotion. If I know I'll be out in the sun for longer than going here or there I'll put on real sunscreen, but for everyday use, I smother myself in that body lotion. In the Winter, I'm susceptible to eczema, and I have found that Neutrogena's Norwegian formula helps.

I usually use a different type of soap each time for my body - I usually like scented soaps and my favorites are peppermint, lavendar, patchouli, and sandalwood. My skin gets pretty dry too and the only thing I've found to work in a sustained way is Lubriderm lotion. In the winter, if my heels get craked, I use bag balm. And I use Vaseline intensive care on my lips.

Thank you Tanya, I guess it will take a bit of time for me before i will be more bold in posting my own questions;-)).
I was curious of the body products because I seem to be trapped in never-ending search for the body hydrating miracle. My skin tends to be very dry and especially now in summer when the number of the showers per day, pool visits or simply holiday sea dives grows the skin gets irritated all the time. I have my favorites, but since they are unconquered for years I would gladly changed them for some new formula, fragrance etc.
As for the principal I don't like the unscented products. I guess a bit of a fragrance is a must for feeling pampered;-)
So, to go to the point: no1. for all the body balms is Vichy product called Lipidose 2. Very rich, light scent and with fast absorption stays on for hours. I tried some other pharmacy distributed products but the most effective are at the same time without the fragrance.
For summer months I adore Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil, and when out of it I just turn to the J&J Baby Oil. For body wash products I turn for grapefruit/citron fragrances and that follows as a tendency in scrubs. Following by my beloved summer bitter orange perfumes by Guerlain: Pamplelune.
Dr. Sholl for feet and...that will be all!

This thread is for Basia, who said ti would be nice on the make-up thread to also share this info.

I'm pretty simple when it comes to this, it's almost always drugstore products.
Unlike on my face, the skin on my body is pretty sensitive and dry.

I use Dove body wash, current favorites are the Cream Oil Cherry Blossom & Almond Scent and go fresh Energize Grapefrut & Lemongrass with little exfoliating beads. For body lotion I alternate between Olay Age Transform Body Creme Serum and Dove Cream Oil Intensive Body Lotion. Deodorant is either Dove Clear Solid with Cucumber scent or Mitchum Clear Gel. Hand cream is Neutrogena's fast absorbing version of the Norwegian Formula and foot cream is by Dr Scholl's, although once I'm out I want to try the Nexcare that Angie recommended. These are the basics.

In addition, in the summer I must use sunscreen on every exposed inch of skinoherwise I can burn in less than 5 min, so I like Neutrogena's Active Breathable Sunblock SPF 45, it's much less sticky than normal stuff. I sometimes fuss with a body lotion with a light self tanner ( Dove's Energy Glow actually smells nice), but I am yet to do it this summer. I have also recently discovered Dove's Fresh Body Mists ( looove the green tea&cucumber), which are great for summer super hot days when I feel that the perfume is too heavy.

Once a week I sue a sugar scrub/polish all over, I keep experimenting and changing this, currently it's from organic brand called Alba. And on extremely rare going out to club-like places in the evening, I like Lancome's little spray oil with a touch of shimmer ( the product name escapes me now) on shoulders and collarbones.

How about you?
