We get a squillion points on our Amex every year because we use it for gas, groceries, to pay bills, etc. The only time I don't use my Amex is if the place doesn't take Amex or if my total is $5 or less (or it's Nordstrom/Macys -- I use my store cards there). Other than that, Amex it is!&nbsp;When my husband first bought this house, he bought all the furniture on Amex. We flew business class to Chile from that! (Disclaimer: we pay our bill in full every month. Since they were "free," I chose bags that were more unusual than I might otherwise select.
