I've had great luck with Lucky, Levis, Gap, Frame, and Uniqlo (Kaihara). I do machine wash all denim inside out in cold water and hang dry.</div><div><br /></div><div>Another thing I have found with jeans: some darker washes often fit smaller than lighter washes, even in the same cut and brand. Heat is the most abhorrent thing to do to clothes. It causes fading, it causes shrinkage, it breaks down synthetic fibers (and the tumbling in the dryer exacerbates fiber damage to ALL materials)... bonus points for line drying because it uses no utilities :-)</p> <p>As for my personal jeans recs, I'm 50 y.o. and my AG jeans have held up very well to a host of laundering methods. My 7FAM, COH, and Helmut Lang denim all handled laundering really well, also. Angie said Citizens of Humanity (COH). They have been fabulous jeans. I got the dark wash straights., no distressing. They were cotton with 1 or 2% stretch and washed in cold water and air dried.
