135 at 5'7" sounds like a pretty healthy weight. That would put your BMI at the lower end of the healthy range. I am only 5'5" and my doctor wants me to stay around 135.

A lot of meds cause water retention and it seems the body doesn't retain as much fluid when you are eating healthy so the first few do seem to fall off quickly.

Just stick with it and stay healthy. If you lose weight at a slow and steady pace, it is usually easier to maintain the loss.

yes, the first 5 drops off almost overnight because it is alot of water weight. After that it slows down. Aim for a pound a week. Perhaps track your food at loseit.com. to help keep in the calorie range that you need to be in.

I had gained about 25 pounds over the course of a year. Ouch. It wasn't horrible, considering I started at 115 pounds at 5'7, but it just felt very quick, and I went up 3 clothing sizes, which made me feel horrible.
I went off my medication a little over a month ago, which was a big cause of the weight gain, and also started eating healthier. I lost 5 pounds super fast - less than 2 weeks. I thought 'Hey this is going to be easy'. However, I have hovered at 135 pounds for a while now; haven't gained, which is great, but I haven't lost either.
Is it normal to easily lose the first 5 pounds, then have trouble after? I just don't understand why I was doing so well so quickly at first, only to plateau so quickly! If you have any weight loss stories I'd love to hear them too, I need inspiration!
