I like your cool, laid-back look! The shirt works really nicely open on you.I laughed at your comment about the mall, kids, and snacks!

well, I can certainly identify with the washing fiasco. I ruined one of my favourite J. Crew tees with my step-daughter's rotten skirt. And oxyclean did not do the job, alas.

I really like the plaid with white. It's fun and fresh!

I really like this and can see myself wearing it. Usually when fall rolls around I add warmth in the foot area, in the form of booties. But I recently realized I could keep wearing sandals like you are, and add warmth up top instead. Thanks for the visual to accompany my mental pictures!

Thanks! But now thanks to another thread I can see how hopeless my sleeve roll looks... Argh!!! Gonna 'Jenna roll' next time. Also, I threw this on unwashed over the white tee and ended up with blue shoulders. Whoops! An overnight soak in oxi cleanser seems to have remedied the white tee. I obviously don't know how to behave around new clothes. LOL

I really like the colors of the Madewell plaid shirt and your adaptation of the outfit with the flat sandals...especially for those of us who aren't in a climate that allows boots/booties or lots of layers yet!

I've discussed my very small Aug-Oct work capsule before...

My new Oct-Dec capsule is taking shape & I like to get to know my new clothes a little better on the weekends.

Suz asked if I only wear neutrals, and the answer is usually. But I do like a little color! So here is my colorful new Madewell plaid shirt in red, dark navy and oyster. I often wear button ups like this open and over a tee because my broad upper torso can look very blocky. Also, Northern CA is mild 9 months of the year and layering for the marine layer is just second nature.

I'm wearing it over a warm white Madewell linen swing tee (also new, on clearance) and my BRepublic white cropped jeans from s/s 2013. I used a vintage saddle leather belt to go with my cognac d'orsay flats (I think they're actually closer to what Angie calls pecan)

I'm going shopping... Argh! I hate shopping. But I can't order a jacket until I try some on in the stores so off I go with my darling daughters to critique my choices. Thank god malls sell snacks.

wish me luck! xo
