(Psst--it's a life-long project, or at least as long as you can participate in deciding what you're wearing!)

Great job on having a review strategy, though. I look forward to more revelations--they usually help me, too.

Frannie, I enjoyed reading about your insights, especially about the boots/roof, lol! I can't imagine how much I'd have to spend if I ever moved back to a cold climate. I'm sure boots and a coat would use up my entire budget (especially since I have 12" calves). I'm sure your boots are beautiful and they will keep on giving you fab style for many, many years.

I, too, love a great print and my wardrobe is very small. I've decided not to wear prints on cardigans, blazers, pants or skirts (or coats for that matter). That keeps things easier to mix and match. If, for instance, my bouses/tops are printed and everything else is a solid, I probably won't have to worry about pattern mixing when I don't want to mix them. I'm stuck right now with one pair of heels which are patterned and two of my dresses are printed. It's not that I couldn't wear them together, but I'm just not feeling that hectic look at the moment. Since I keep a small wardrobe, it would really help if I could figure out how I'm going to deal with prints!

Good luck on your wardrobe editing, it sounds like you're doing well so far.

Rethinking adding them. Both have been absent from my wardrobe for a long time. I think total I own 2 white shirts and 1 brown tunic.

Frannie, I had to laugh at point 7, where you say that you thought this would be a weekend project. So often, I think, "Oh, I'll just add X or Y to my wardrobe, and then I'll be set," but within a week I discover that all that did was open new possibilities!

I do think that it's good to go slow when building a wardrobe. I can't tell you how many times I get on a streak—neutrals one season, patterns the next, bright colors after that—only to have it fizzle out six months later. So there is definitely a cycle to things, and only time will tell what your "true" likes and dislikes are and how much of which things truly need to be in your wardrobe.

You said you are rethinking white and brown. Are you rethinking having them in your wardrobe, or not having them?

Week 3 brought some new insights

1. Taking pictures of your outfits is good.

2. I'm still pretty much working with my base wardrobe that I pulled 3 weeks ago. Have worn some clothes that I haven't worn in a while

3. While a minimalist wardrobe sounds great in theory - I really do love a great print. I want a functional wardrobe and will experiment with finding the ideal number of clothes for me.

4. Because I love a great print - I need to work on building a solid core wardrobe. This would be a pair of pants, skirt, dress and topper blazer type jacket, topper sweater and shirt in the colors: grey, navy, black and white

5. I rethinking the colors white and brown.

6. I do not like the silhouette long over long

7. I seriously thought this would be a weekend project. This is a 3 year project minimal

8. I still can't believe I spent as much as I did on the aquatalia boots - It is kinda like getting a roof on your house. You need one and you get one and well it's just a roof nothing really special or fancy about it, however you really glad you have it if you don't realize how glad you are.

Excited to see what this week brings in terms of learning.
