The skirt is actually really easy for me to work into less formal occasions if I wear it with sneakers or stompy boots. I wouldn't wear it to work -- and i wouldn't wear it to climb a tree or go for a hike -- but I'd definitely wear it out for dinner (or in for dinner -- which Lorna and I were doing -- that was at home). And of course I'd wear it for an event.
