Many other styles to choose from if you search the website. The Airism apparently only comes in short sleeves, I guess it is for warm weather but I like them year round because they are so nice and silky!

Although I prefer the look with a cami, sometimes you have to be practical and dress for the weather, so I've done a long sleeved tee underneath. It still looks perfectly fine. I recommend the inner wear tees (heat tech or airism) from uniqlo. For layering underneath, you want it to be pretty fitted so I would get your regular size (I size up if I want to wear them on their own). The heattech fabric is thin and almost silky but warm. they are useful under sweaters too.

A print (prob a simpler geometric like dots or stripes) is fun under sheer blouses too.

I have a 3/4 length silk tee from Lands End that I can wear under my sheer top. It looks different...not bad at al...I like the look!

I think the only way might be to wear it with a thermal cami and a topper. A cardigan, jacket? Am I telling you the obvious?!

I would definitely give it a go Peri. Sveta has an excellent point about non-competing necklines and if I had the issue of not being able to wear some sheer tops, than I'd do exactly the same as her because - just like you - I am a serious repeater and would do a lot for that extra mileage of my favourite combinations.

Thinking about it, I'm not sure it would be as pretty. The thing that looks good about the regular type cami under sheer is that you see the sheer. Long sleeve would miss the point.

I may try it anyway...as we've discussed before I am an enthusiastic outfit repeater and want to wear my clothes many times and don't easily get tired of the things I love. The tiny time window on this look makes me sad! Just a short spring burst and a short fall burst. Buying a little time might be better.

I have never seen a sheer top worn with long sleeves underneath, but never say never!

The gear stores (like REI or MEC) often have long silk underwear. And you can get it at Land's End and maybe LL Bean, too. I think Land's End is having a big sale now...

I wore an animal print blouse today layered over a very fine merino wool long sleeve tee. As long as necklines and sleeves do not compete I think this layering works. My wool tees are from Costco and amazing quality - warm without any bulk.

I've been dying to wear some of the sheer tops I have...I love that look of a cami under a loose, sheer blouse. The weather just won't cooperate! Until today it was too hot...like close to 90 last week! Now today it dropped to 60 and felt too cold.

It may even out and be perfect in a few days but that is still a short window to wear these things, and I have several.

Does anyone wear this kind of top with a long sleeved top underneath, like a silk undershirt? Does that look work? And what is a good source for such a thing? I searched the blog because I thought I remembered Angie talking about something similar, but couldn't find the reference.
